We all have Christmas traditions that we feel like we “must do” each year or it wouldn’t be Christmas. For as long as I can remember, my mother baked Christmas cookies and let my brother and I decorate them on Christmas Eve. When I was 15 years old, she handed the sugar cookie recipe down to me, which was my great grandmother’s recipe. I have been baking and decorating the cookies each Christmas for the past 18 years; and I will continue for many more to come.
The layout is based on Let’s Get Sketchy – December Week 4 Sketch:
I really enjoyed using this sketch as it lets the scrapper put their own twist on it. I used mostly SEI products – pattern paper and die cuts.
I am also submitting this layout to two challenges over at ACOT. First is the December Photography Challenge, where the hostess gives you several prompts to choose from. I went with the preparations of the Holidays (baking). The other challenge is the Journaling Challenge – where you had to scrap/journal about any Christmas Memory.
TFL! 🙂
Love your job with the sketch. It really is a great sketch! I want to use it again in the future on something. Love the tradition with the cookie recipe passed down. Such wonderful memories! TFS
Awesome layout! I love that you moved the main portion up so you could add all that journaling. Looks great!
Love how you documented that “sweet” memory Brandy! All the papers and colors you used go so perfectly with the photos!
