Layout: All In

With the scrappy stores getting the new releases from CHA, I decided to dig deep down into my stash to use up some older product to make room for those new releases. I found these “poker chip” stickers from Creative Imaginations that would be perfect for my hubby’s 37th birthday in 2008. I kept it simple by using solid cardstock, then using the stickers to create my own pattern as the border for my photos.

Its based on Sketch #48 at Sketch-N-Scrap:

I added a frame around the last photo and the black bling on the frame to full fill the 4X4/4 in a row challenge over at ACOT. I chose the 1st column – circles or brads (I chose the circle stickers), bling, 3 photos, and a frame. I also submitted this layout to ACOT’s Graphic Design Challenge where you “place something on it that duplicates the exact background of whatever is behind it, giving the effect that if you were to remove it the pattern or design of the background would remain the same” – using an example of a gift card and the card that is behind it. Sometimes when you pull the GC off, you’ll see the same pattern.Β  I chose to do this with the last poker strip. Since I had two packages of the Creative Imaginations stickers, I was able to duplicate the same poker chip, adding foam adhesive for some dimension. I went a little further by doing the same thing with the red diamond sticker.

  1. Love the bright red background Brandy, and great job duplicating the poker chip and adding dimension to it! I love how you decorated his cake too!
