I’m loving the Teresa Collins “Nine & Co” collection more and more. Not only is it great for the new homeowner pics of me and my hubby, but it works great for doggie layouts too! See!!
Miss Penny just chilling in the yard! So this layout took alot of turns. First, I wanted to use the Becky Fleck sketch that ACOT was posting for their weekly sketch challenge.
Then…saw the floral pattern paper I was using, pairing it with the orange cardstock and I decided to submit it to ACOT’s Supply List Challenge. Joannie listed 10 items and I chose orange (cardstock); torn edge (on pattern paper); floral pp; burlap (used as photo mat for 2nd photo); and sequins (scattered on floral paper).
By this time, all I needed was a title. And nothing fit. No pre-made title (tag, die cut, word art). Stamps weren’t going to work. I just couldn’t think. As I looked over ACOT challenges I remembered the Music Challenge! Barb wanted us to use a song that mentioned nature – from grass to flowers to trees to the sky. Something outdoorsy! First song that came to mind was Tim McGraw’s “Where the Green Grass Grows”. Ha! Perfect! So I looked thru my stash of alphas and decided to emphasize “green” in the title with some larger green alphas.
My complete list of items includes:
Pattern paper, sequins, chipboard, folder (opened up and used as a tag), button, die cuts: Teresa Collins
small alphas: Authentique
larger alphas: Webster’s pages
Paw Print sticker: Sticko
Ric Rac: Genevieve Gail
Great layout and great job incorporating all the challenges. I miss it over at ACOT! Life has been busy, though I’m sure you’re well aware with a new move! We’re looking to put in an offer on a house of our own as well. So this weekend I got in my scrap area and cleaned it out, organized everything into photo boxes (on sale at Michaels!!) and everything is cleaned up and put away. Now I definitely want to get back in there! Alas, I haven’t scrapped since June! Been busy with work, Toastmasters, kids’ sports, church, and life in general. I’m busy living life and making memories for some great scrapping moments later down the road. And in our new house I’ve got a whole double-door closet that I plan on converting into a scrap closet, which will probably turn out to be more room than I have now in reality, or about the same when you factor in my bookshelf I have now for album storage. Otherwise, I’ve just been using a hutch, which has served nicely, but I’ll likely have just a tad more room. anyways, I definitely want to get back over to some of the challenges and chatting. Take care!
Congrats on your new house!
Brandy I just love that line with those adorable photos of Penny! The floral paper is so perfect!
Love the colors and the wide ricrac Brandy!
