I left ya guys last week with sad news regarding Bear. She had been to the vet 3 times in less than 5 days. I had actually posted last week as my husband and I were headed to the vet. Bear was heavily panting. And I mean, HEAVILY. In a cool room, with wet, damp wash clothes on her body, small fan blowing in her face and plenty of cool water to drink. You can tell she wasn’t  feeling well:

Well, good thing we took her to the vet. She had a very high fever! 104.6! OMG that was so scary!! They gave her a shot to reduce the fever, as well as meds to give her last Tuesday night. We had bloodwork done. We had to monitor her temp to make sure it either broke or went down. Anything higher is deadly and we would have had to take her to an ER vet clinic. But luckily, we didn’t have to as it broke that night. 101. And that is normal for doggies. 🙂

Results showed liver abnormalities. Vet said it was nothing serious, since she eats, drinks, poops. Vet prescribed liquid hepato. Milk thistle combined with essential vitamin B’s. Supports normal liver function. It’s more of a vitamin. She has been doing so much better since!

Still needing to keep her cool, since it is in the upper 90s during the day.

The latest update on Bear is that her fever hasn’t came back and we’ve managed to keep it between 101.5 & 102 (which is normal for dogs). She is still on her special vitamins for her liver, and we have finally found the right dose of Tramadol for her (2 1/2 tablets every 12 hrs), along with giving her an extra Gabapentin for the pain in the morning. She is wrapping up her UTI antibiotics (got 3 more days) and her urine has no blood in it. She is sleeping better and that means my hubby AND I are sleeping better as well.  For ever day that goes by that we do not have to call/take her to vet is a GREAT day in my book!

Unfortunetly, I do not have any new pics of Mr. Jeffrey. He’s so independent, he’s never around when I have the camera. Maybe next week. 😉
