You & Me

I just got some new stencils from Crafter’s Workshop and a watercolor brush from Zig. Been playing with both this weekend and I just love how fun they are.

This next layout is for the ACOT Guest Designer Challenge #1 – Splatter Away! We are to use at least 2 inks/mists to splatter on a white background. Here is what I came up with:

You & Me

I used gelatos and watered them down to do the splatters and the stencil work. I chose the colors by using the triangle washi tape for inspiration, pulling in the orange, yellow and turquoise. Really love the colors together.

I tried a new technique this weekend too – using tangled thread to put underneath flair buttons. I’ve been seeing lots of people do that and I’ve been wanting to try it, just never really felt the need to. Until now. And I LOVE the LOOK of it too! Will definetly do it again!

I’m also submitting this layout to ACOT’s Title Challenge. We must use the title “You & Me” and at least one heart. Since I was using flair buttons already, I came across the & flair and thought it would be perfect to use for the title. Since the ampersand was so large, I went with turquoise small alphas from Basic Grey to finish off the title.

I also used embellishments from CTMH. Those are the flair buttons, the veneers (arrow, butterfly and heart) and the puffy stickers. The turquoise in the set was perfect little accents! And if you remember, those CTMH puffies are from my April Use It or Lose It Challenge.

The design for this layout is based on a sketch from Let’s Get Sketchy – April, Week 2.

Team B Week 1

I really love the design of this – the border on the left, the rings and the single photo.

TFL! 🙂
