Layouts: Sun & Fun; Taco Cat

Hello everyone! Last weekend I had a couple of hours and got two layouts completed. Granted, one of them was already 75% done as I started it the weekend before.

Layout: Sun & Fun. I used Dear Lizzy “Hear and Now” collection. Various photos of Ruby, Bear and li’l Penny in their pool, Summer 2014

Layout is based on the following sketch posted by the hostess of the Double Page challenge at A Cherry On Top:

Layout: Taco Cat. Jackson playing with a taco dog toy. He plays with it more than the dogs do. LOL. Sept 2021.

I used DCWV yellow pattern paper; Studio Calico green pattern paper (photo mats, cluster at the top); Doodlebug washi tape and enamel shapes; Anna Griffin cat face sticker; The Paper Studio sticker (“but first tacos”). Alphas are from my stash.

Layout is based on the latest Becky Fleck Sketch at A Cherry On Top. I rotated the sketch to better fit my photos.

Layouts: Don’t Care and Doggie Days

Hello everyone! I had a semi-busy weekend last weekend but still managed to get two layouts completed.

Layout: Don’t Care. Everything is Simple Stories #Whatever and Good Vibes.

It’s based on the following sketch – ACOT’s Becky Fleck Sketch #270

This layout is also my example for my Pet Challenge this month at A Cherry On Top. The Challenge is for you to scrap your pet but you cannot use any pet-themed products. No cat/dog/etc lines. No paw prints. No animal accents.

After I did this layout, instead of immediately moving onto my next layout, I decided to start going thru my scrappy things. I have drawers and containers BUSTING at the seams. I’ve got stuff all over the place, and with all the pre-orders that will be coming in the next couple of months, where will I put it all??

So I went through 3 drawers and discovered:

  1. I have lots of MME embellies in half-used packages. Consolidate in one bag.
  2. My Echo Park drawer is FULL. Found an old mini-kit that hasn’t even been opened.
  3. I have a Dear Lizzy 12×12 paper pad AND 6×8 paper pad AND a sticker book AND Thickers. How many layouts have I created? TWO.

With that said, I decided after going thru ONE drawer, I will select ONE thing (or collection or whatever) to set aside and try to “remember” to use. So the MME embellies got set aside. Its a mixture of “My Story” and “Hello Gorgeous” ephemera, brads, chipboard, etc. All packages are at least 50% gone (or more). The Dear Lizzy collection got set aside. And I set aside the EP “Girl Cousin” collection. I will try to use that.

As I was looking thru the Dear Lizzy, I thought I could totally use it for these adorable pictures I have of Jazzy playing with her toy zombie.

The papers and stickers are Dear Lizzy and the banner is from the MME embellies I set aside. I added Doodlebug twine and a die cut doggie face from The Paper Studio. Added the title (also by The Paper Studio) and added a little charm (not sure who makes that, its been in my stash FOREVER).

The design is based on a sketch for the ACOT Sketch with a Twist. Twist was to use an animal accent.

I then got started on a 4th drawer and I realized I have an insane amount of Studio Calico! Wow! All 2014 collections and older. Some I just have a half sheet of. Why is that in a drawer and not in the scraps section? So I’ve got all of those spread out all over my table. What I will need to do now is to set aside the scraps and go thru the loose sheets. If I love it, cool. I’ll stick it in my Pattern Paper drawer. Not feeling it? Put it in a pile for someone to take (either when I get with my scrappy friends, or send it to somebody like as a RAK).

Layout: Ready to Pawty

Hello everyone! I hardly ever scrap during the week, but I had some free time in the evening and did this two pager.

I always take a picture of the pups first thing in the morning on their Birthday. These were taken Feb 10th – Jasmine and Shelby’s 5th Birthday. Took a while to get great pics of them, and even big sister Penny wanted her picture taken!

It used quite a bit of older stash and even learned a new technique on my Cricut!

The pattern papers, large paw prints and washi tape is from Hobby Lobby (The Paper Studio). The alphas are American Crafts (red) and Moxxie (green). The smaller paw print stickers are from Sticko and the chipboard pieces are MAMBI. I even finished the sticker sheet of those! The enamel stars and dot is from Freckled Fawn.

Close up of left page:

The banner is cut using my Cricut and I learned how to SLICE when I added the paw prints and the word WOOF. I really love how that turned out. The glittery brads and glittery embroidery thread is from WRMKs.

Close up of right page:

The design is based on a sketch for the Double Page Challenge over at ACOT.

Layout: Good Times

Hello everyone! I have a super cute and bright layout to share with you all.

It was for the Winter Crop 2×2 Challenge over at A Cherry On Top that was going on last week. The challenge was to use 2×2 squares. When I stumbled upon this photo of Shelby, I saw the toys and all the colors. I went straight for my 6×6 paper pads and pulled out #summer by American Crafts. Instead of mixing the squares up, I went with a rainbow theme, and used embellishments to decorate just a few squares. I used enamel dots, hearts and stars, buttons, and paper clips.

Pup Layouts

Good afternoon everyone! I have a couple of pup layouts to share with you all.

Love at Furst Sight: Jasmine and Shelby playing quietly with toys. Easter 2020. I used Bella Blvd “Cooper” collection

It’s based on the BF Sketch 265:

Puppy Love: My babies when they were LITTLE! ❤

I used Bazzill cardstock; Queen & Co pattern paper; Inkadinkado splatters; Kaisercrafter stickers and The Paper Studio washi tape and paw print stickers.

The layout was inspired by this Fashion Mood Board that I put together for a Challenge over at A Cherry On Top for our Winter Crop (which is going on now!!)

Jasmine and Shelby Layouts

Good morning everyone!

On Valentine’s Day, one of the ladies on ACOT threw us a Valentine’s Day Party filled with challenges, games, etc. The Challenges are due tomorrow, so I got to work on them over the weekend. I managed to use alot of red, pink and HEARTS!

I Love Sushi. Papers are Basic Grey; Embellies are Jolee’s; alphas are Bo Bunny; enamel dots are Freckled Fawn. Everything else is from my stash.

Loved. As I was finding papers for the layout above, I stumbled across a paper with all these hearts. I thought to myself: I’ll fussy cut those out, ink them and put them in a grid format, surrounding my photo. Look at that sweet face. I love my Shelby! ❤ ❤ Again, the papers are Basic Grey; stickers are from Simple Stories. Twine is from my stash.

I Love My Dog. Another layout featuring Shelby. This layout was based on a sketch (see below). I used DCWV “Paw Prints” pattern paper; Bazzill cardstock; KaiserCraft circle stickers. Washi tape and title are from my stash.

Easter’s On Its Way! Everything is “Welcome Easter” by Echo Park. All I have left is one and half sheets of solid papers and half of the sticker sheet.

Doggie Layouts

Hello everyone! I had another great scrappy weekend last weekend. Got several pages done and they were all about the girls! Shelbly, Jasmine and Penny each shined!

Layout: Happy Birthday Penny. I cut out a large die cut cake using my cricut, and cut out the title and put it on the cake as a layer. Used lots of stuff from Hobby Lobby (The Paper Studio)

Layout: Our Girl. My sweet girl posing with her new sweater. Lots of P13 and Mintay papers/embellies. Fussy cut out the donuts.

Layout: The Shelbster. Another layout using up papers/stickers/alphas from a kit by The Paper Studio.

Journaling reads: Shelby, aka “The Shelbster”, is an attention hound. Always has to be in your lap and getting love. Rob took these pictures of Shelby when he was talking to his mom on the phone. Isn’t she a ham?!?

Layout: Currently. The purple paper is Vicki Boutin; others are Reminisce. EK Success border punch; Freckled Fawn hearts; The Paper Studio die cut dog and alphas/numbers are Thickers.

Layout: Hello. Papers are Studio Calico; stickers are KaiserCraft.

Layout: Hi Mom. Is Dinner Ready Yet? Because I’m Hungry.

I used lots of DCWV, along with a mix of alphas – Simple Stories and Jillibean Soup.

TFL! 🙂

Stash busting

Hello everyone! Last weekend, I used up quite a bit of older stash and even some newer stuff.

Layout: Pooch Pancakes. One day at Earthwise Pets, I found some “pooch pancakes” – just add water. The lady had several flavors. And instead of syrup, you can top with Buddy Budder – doggie peanut butter. I made some one day and added fresh blueberries to it. The girls LOVED it. It makes alot and up to 3 batches. My girls give it 5 STARS. August 24, 2021

Papers/embellies are Heidi Swapp “Honey & Spice”; American Craft Thickers; Bazzill cardstock and washi tape from my stash.

Layout: Go Girl. Penny needed her shots and wellness exam. She did great with all the calming products and CBD oil treatments.

Thickers; MME papers/stickers/vellum (Heat embossed the circles)

Layout: I’m freaking meowgical.

Papers are Best Creation; Want 2 Scrap bling; Prima flowers; Kaisercraft veneers; Tim Holtz ink. Cardstock is from stash (doesn’t have a barcode and this thin, so definetly not Bazzill!)

Layout: All of Me Loves All of You.

Cocoa Vanilla “Unforgettable” papers/embellies; Bazzill cardstock; die cut cat and dog are The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby). Veneer pink hearts are from my stash

TFL! 🙂

Jasmine and Jackson Layouts

Good afternoon everyone! Hope y’all are staying warm, whereever you’re at!

Last weekend, I got two layouts completed. One was for the January Make the Cut Challenge, and the theme is being used for my February Pet Challenge (Use the word “love” or a heart in your title AND use hearts on your layout)

I Love My Dog: I used Echo Park pattern papers/stickers; Inkadinkado splatters; Freckled Fawn enamel dots; and The Paper Studio puffy hearts.

Don’t Stress Meowt. I used Reminisce pattern papers/cardstock stickers; Park Lane title sticker; Doodlebug washi tape; The Paper Studio die cuts (cats); and Freckled Fawn enamel dots. This for the Jan Book Lover’s Challenge (Option 1: use only black, white and grey)

Winter Crop Layouts

Hello everyone! Two weeks ago, several cherries at A Cherry on Top threw a Winter Crop with challenges and fun games. I used up some older stash, mixed with new stash and had alot of fun.

Layout: As Long As The Sun Is Out
Challenge: What Winter Looks Like (either where you are OR what you THINK it looks like)

Winter in South Texas can be a bit bipolar. We can run the heater and AC in the same day. Ask a Texan: Is it going to be hot or cold today? Answer: Yes. On Jan 1, 2022 we had a high temperature of 95. 36 hours later, we were 27. Penny isn’t a fan of the cold but she sure love the sun!

I used PhotoPlay papers, ephemera and stickers; Doodlebug sun and cloud clips; The Paper Studio washi tape; Simple Stories Alphas (pink, blue and grey) and Moxxie alphas (green)

Layout: MEOW
Challenge: Diagnol Design

I used PhotoPLay papers, stickers and ephemera; and ribbon from my stash

Layout: Best Friends Furever
Challenge: Use It Up – use up a sticker sheet or package of embellies and also use something you’ve been hoarding for a while.

I used up what was left of a Jillibean Soup sticker sheet. I used 19 stickers on my layout. I’ve also been hoarding the veneers too. I used 5 of them.

I used Bazzill cardstock; Jillibean Soup papers, stickers and veneers; and washi tape from my stash.

Layout: Paws Down I’m the Cutest Dog in Town
Challenge: Washi Tape Challenge – use at least one tag and cover it with washi tape.

I decorated my tag with washi, and then added stickers.

I used Echo Park pattern papers, stickers and ephemera; Bella Blvd washi tape, The Paper Studio ribbon and beads are from stash.

Layout: Oh Yeah!
Challenge: Image Inspiration – use the image below and use at least 3 items that inspire you.

I used all the colors and was inspired by the gum drops, glasses, lined paper, “hello” and bold black lettering.

I used Eyelet Outlet glasses and Simple Stories papers, enamel dots, puffy stickers, foam stickers, and washi tape and ephemera.

Layout: SNOW!
Challenge: Mood Board – 50% of the layout must be grey, and choose at least 3 items that inspire you based on the mood board below.

I was inspired by the heart, “baby it’s cold outside” phrase, the pop of pink and hearts.

It snows every 20-30 years here in Corpus Christi. Sometimes it melts before it hits the ground, sometimes we get 10 to 12 inches. On December 8, 2017, we got a light dusting. Makes for some pretty pictures.

I used Asuka Studio papers; Simple Stories chipboard and foam stickers; and glitter washi tape by The Paper Studio
