Journaling and Stash Busting!

Hello everyone! This past weekend was a scrappy weekend for me. We were HOT and HUMID and what better way to stay cool than to inside and scrap! I dug out old products and journaled quite a bit too.

Momma Opossum and Her Babies. A story about a opossum who moved from the neighbor’s yard to our tree, to underneath a tarp. Found out she had TWO little babies! But all is well. They went on their merry little way.

Products used was 7 Gypsies lined pattern paper (remember them??!!); Amy Tangerine Thickers; Zva Creative bling; Tim Holtz ink in “aged mahogany” and cardstock was from stash.

Hey You! Jackson had brought in this beautiful blue bird. Luckily it was not injured and we took it outside so it could fly away.

Products used are My Mind’s Eye papers and chipboard; Recollections washi tape; Dylusions mist; Jane Davenport ink and a Simon Says stamp for the title.

Design is based on the A Cherry On Top Becky Fleck Sketch #228.

Happy Easter. The girls with their new toys from their Easter Basket.

I used Echo Park “Welcome Easter” papers and stickers.

Design is based on the A Cherry On Top June Sketch with a Twist Challenge. The twist: use stitching

Oh Happy Day! Toys and treats the girls’ got on their 4th Adoption Day.

I used Simple Stories “Oh Happy Days” for this two page layout.

The design is based on A Cherry On Top Double Page Challenge.

June Layouts

Hi everyone! Last weekend I managed to get a few layouts completed.

Woof Woof – You Kitten Me Right Meow: Everything is DCWV except the collar sticker (Basic Grey). Penny and Jackson hanging out in the yard together. Penny is cool with it. Jackson..well, not so much. His look tells you all about how he feels! Haha!

Its based on the Becky Fleck Sketch #227 at A Cherry On Top:

Life of a Big Sister: Papers, stickers and ephemera are from DCWV while the alphas are Simple Stories (Red) and My Little Shoebox (Yellow).

Penny was only 4 yrs old when we adopted Jasmine and Shelby. We thought she would struggle with 2 new pups, but she embraced them and has been the best big sister to both of them. 6/22/017

Valentines’s Day Fun: The Paper Studio papers, puffy stickers; Sticko alphas and Royal Lace doily.

The girls on Valentines Day this year with treats from the Dog Bakery and Conversation Heart Toys.

Best Friend: Most papers, stickers and ephemera is KaiserCraft. #CatLover and My Cat stickers are Authentique.

Photos are of Jackson being super sweet to Shelby, just hanging out. 2018

NSD Layouts

Good morning everyone! I know it’s been awhile and the past month has been super busy.

May 1st was National Scrapbooking Day and I ended up playing at A Cherry On Top during the festivities. I was also honored to be a hostess for a two hour block on NSD too! I offered two challenges – a Fashion Challenge and a Pinterest Challenge with a Twist. My fashion challenge was based on a Mood Board that I supplied and scrapbookers had to choose at least 3 items that inspired them.

And here is how I was inspired by it:

1. True Friends as a title, with a hint of gold (washi tape, alphas, and the doggie paper clip).
2. The nails (middle photo) – browns and teal, bones (border sticker), paw prints (stickers) and “woof” (washi tapes).
3. lacy leggings (doily)

My second challenge was to choose a layout to scraplift or a sketch to use from Pinterest and the TWIST was to use ONLY products that are from manufacturers who are no longer in business. And for me, that means BASIC GREY! Freebies were any and all tools (punches, die cutting, etc) and inks.

I chose this layout to scraplift:

And this is my take on it:

For the twist, I used LOTS of Basic Grey – papers, rub ons and chipboard pieces, along with alphas and other stickers. I also used Zva Creative bling for the centers of the butterflies.

For the following week, I would do at least ONE layout per day (during the work week) with 3-4 layouts per weekend day. Here are my creations:

There were SO Many challenges that I didn’t even get to do, but I did 12! That’s a new record in my book!

More April Layouts

Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing with you some layouts I’ve worked on the last couple of weekends.

You don’t find the happy life, you make it: Everything is Echo Park “I’d rather be crafting”

Hey there: Everything is Simple Stories “Oh Happy Day”

The sweetest thing: I used DCWV papers; Kaisercraft border and ticket stickers; The Paper Studio paw prints and Bo Bunny alphas. Layout is based on a sketch (see below) and the ACOT Music Genre Challenge.

Some Assembly Required: I used Basic Grey “Acid Wash” papers, grey alphas, tags; Freckled Fawn enamel dots (orange and yellow); Doodlebug enamel dots (blue); Jillibean Soup ephemera die cuts; The paper Studio “Life is Ruff!” sticker; Sticko doggie sticker and bone stickers; and a die cut doggie from my stash. It was white and I used CTMH ink in Goldenrod to color it

I submitted the layout to two ACOT Challenges: My Mood Challenge (Used 6 tags, in various sizes/shapes) and the
2-4-6-8 Challenge. For that one I used 2 photos; 4 ephemera pieces; 6 tags; 8 enamel dots.

Life is Better with Dogs: I used Everyday Explorers stamp; Queen & Co pattern paper and polka dot washi tape; Doodlebug dog bone washi tape; Studio Calico veneer stars; Bella Blvd pattern paper; and Echo Park ephemera (I love my dog collection and My Dog collection)

This layout was submitted to the ACOT Grab 5 Challenge. There is a list of things to choose from and I chose I used stars (7 – 6 veneers and 1 die cut); TH distress ink (inked edges and stamped the “this is why I’m a dog person” element); ephemera; animal sticker (the doggie); and rounded corners (photos and papers).

I used Tim Holtz paint; Heidi Swapp stencil and Simple Stories “I am” papers, chipboard and stickers.

My sweet Penny Lane posing pretty, November 2020.

Close-ups of each section.

Hello Spring: For this layout, I used “Forever Young” by Bo Bunny.

My sweet Jasmine. 🙂

My inspiration came from the Mood Board Challenge. We were to use at least 2 colors and 3 other items that trigger inspiration.

I used all the colors, and was inspired by the flowers, the cactus, and the “Hello Spring” in the middle.

A few weekend layouts

March Layouts

Hi everyone! I managed to get 3 layouts done last weekend.

Happy: A selfie of me with my scrappy friends last summer. I used Amy Tangerine and Jen Hadfield papers; a Basic Grey brad; Prima flowers; Kaisercraft title and word art stickers; and Doodlebug twine. The tags were made from a template using up some scraps.

I used the following sketch at ACOT:

Let’s Taco ‘Bout It: I used Bazzill cardstock; Doodlebug pattern papers, washi tape and enamel shapes; Jolee’s tacos/hot sauce packets; and Moxxie alphas. That avacado sticker? Found at H-E-B in the party section during Cinco de Mayo!

Journaling: Six months after only able to go through the drive-thru of our fave Mexican Restaurant, they were finally open for dine-in. The food was better than ever. The salsa was spicy; and the chips were crispy. We were in HEAVEN! Sept 25, 2020

Be a Dreamer – Follow Rainbows: Once I had taken photos of Penny wearing her PJs, I’ve started to “collect” anything scrappy in the rainbows and unicorns dept. LOL. This layout features her wearing them in mid-December last year. The papers/stickers are from a kit called “Chasing Rainbows” I found at Hobby Lobby (The Paper Studio brand). The washi tape is from Recollections.

I used the following sketch:

How much is that doggie in the window?

Hello everyone!

My March Pet Challenge at A Cherry On Top is for you to use a song that has an animal in the title. There are quite a few out there. Some examples are: “Hound Dog”; “Eye of the Tiger”; “Cat Scratch Fever”; “Who let the dogs out?”, just to name a few. You could even use the catchy yet quite annoying song that most toddlers like – “Baby Shark”. LOL. Normally this is just a PET challenge, but because there’s alot more songs for people to choose from, I chose to allow all animals. If you have zoo pics to scrap, this might be the challenge for you!

I chose to use “How much is that doggie in the window?” for my title to go with this photo I took of Miss Penny while I was coming home from my morning walk. You’ll have to zoom in to find her!

Journaling: As I was coming home from my walk one morning, I looked up to see Miss Penny sitting by the window, looking out. I thought it was cute and immediately stopped to take her picture. I knew exactly how I would scrap this and which title I’d use.

I used Echo Park pattern papers and stickers; a Pebbles journal spot; Doodlebug washi tape and MME alphas.

Come out to A Cherry On Top and check out my challenge and many others!

TFL! 🙂
