Good evening everyone! This month’s Pet Challenge is about scrapping what your furbaby LOVES so much that they probably couldn’t live with out it. I chose to scrap about Shelby and her love of the tennis ball.
Good afternoon everyone! A couple of weeks ago, I had a few of my scrappy friends over for our quarterly crop that got pushed back by 2 months. I was working on puppy layouts – BABY puppy layouts! Back when Shelby and Jasmine were only 4 – 5 months old! OMGoodness they were ADORABLE! Here they are!
Play Dirty: Used mostly PhotoPlay papers/stickers
Shelby: Used Authentique papers/stickers with Heidi Grace chipboard alphas (don’t those match the papers perfectly?!)
Friends: I used lots of scraps, and a mix of doggie papers with other papers. Pulled the purple from the photo.
The next ones use Simple Stories “Life is Ruff” collection.
Last but not least, one that uses a mix of 2 Bella Blvd collections. Shelby discovering a BUG!
Good afternoon everyone! With the heat index over 105 each weekend, I’ve been staying inside and scrapping!
I used my Collection Bash Kit (combination of 2 bits/pieces of KaiserCraft Dog Collections) on 3 layouts.
In Memory Of: I had come across these photos a few weeks ago but didn’t know how to scrap them or what I wanted to say. Until now.
Journaling: A month after Bear passed away, I put a few photos of her in a tri-fold frame. One of her at 9 months, one at 6 years old and one of her at 10 years old. I showed her sister Ruby Mae the photos and its almost like she knew who she was looking at. It was very sweet and amazing to watch.
Love Your Selfie: Selfies of Ruby Mae and I. She loved taking pictures! 2015
I used Tim Holtz “Stormy Sky” distressed ink; Bo Bunny pattern paper; Paper House Productions cork stickers; Freckled Fawn chipboard and Fancy Pants Flair button.
This is also for my Pet Challenge I’m hosting over at A Cherry On Top. I had been hosting it for a couple of years, but had to take an 18 month hiatus due to some personal obligations. But now, I’m ready and BACK! Click on the link to join in!
Kung Fu Kitty: Mr. Jackson playing with a dog toy. August 2017. His legs look like he’s Kung Fu Fighting! LOL
I used The Paper Studio washi tape; Doodlebug enamel dots; Crafty Works purple alphas; Paper House Productions puffy sticker; Jillibean Soup label stickers and everything is else Bella Blvd (Chloe Collection).
Life is Sweet: Jackson in his fave tree. Used Fancy Pants “The Bright Side” collection
Picture Perfect: A sweet photo of Mr. Jeffrey ❤ <3. Used a kit from the Paper Studio
A Place in the Sun. Miss Penny sunbathing. Used a mixture of OLD (LYB embellishments) and NEW (DCWV papers)
Just a Friend. Used mostly Best Creation and DCWV.
Journaling: One day I went outside to look for Jackson. I found him in his tree, along with this little girl. She would not let me pet her, only take pictures. After that day, I never saw her again. July 2017
Meow. I used 7 Paper word strip stickers; Best Creations pattern papers; WRMKs embossed stickers; Jillibean Soup date tag; Queen & Co beige enamel dots; and Simple Stories green enamel dots.
I have “bashed” collections before, but as I was deciding on which one to do, I came across leftover pieces I have from 2 KaiserCraft pet collections. I had 4 full sheets of pattern paper and lots of scraps but perfect for layering, fussy cutting and photo mats. LOTS of those branding strips and 2 sheets of stickers. One was full and the other one had just a few missing. PLUS half of a package of ephemera.
I added the brown dog bone paperclip because I figured with all the browns, it would match. I also grabbed alphas in various shades of brown/cream that I thought would go well.
My goal is to do at LEAST four layouts using this collection.
My first layout (so far, as this challenge goes on thru July 31st) is of older photos of my parents’ dog Little Bit who passed away a couple of years ago.
I started with the wood grain background and using the lines on the background, I lined up the branding strips (those are just HALF!). Then I matted the two photos and placed them down and saw the two large phrases I could fussy cut from pattern paper (All Great Friendships…..and Dogs leave paw prints….). I then found the cute quote “A dog is the only thing….” and tucked it underneath a photo while using the top portion of the “dogs leave paw prints” layered on top of the top photo. Then I scattered several word art stickers here and there where they would fit.
Hello everyone! I have a few layouts to share with you that I did over the weekend.
Happy Birthday to You: Photos of the girls on their 3rd birthday enjoying some doggie ice cream, pup cakes and plenty of fun toys. I used mostly The Paper Studio “Eat Cake” birthday stack and stickers. The circles are punched are using an EK Success Confetti Circle punch.
My Best Friend: An older photo of me with my parents’ dog LB (Little Bit). He passed away 2 years ago. He was a good sweet pup.
Anyways, I used Echo Park “I Love My Dog” with the “Best Friend” and “Doggie Days” stickers being from The Paper Studio. They are actually clear stickers and they’ve been sitting on my desk for a while – trying to remind myself to use them up. So I backed them with solid cardstock and fussy cut them out. Alot easier to use them that way!
Dog – Furry Friend: Penny and Jeffrey playing together about 6 years ago. Unfortunetly Jeffrey passed away almost 3 years ago. Despite being 10 years older than Penny, he sure enjoyed playing with her. It was very sweet.
Again, used the Echo Park “I Love My Dog” collection. I did the Make the Cut Challenge, which was to use FOUR 6×6 sheets of pattern paper. I couldn’t cut into them so naturally I put them in a grid design.
It was’t me: This was during Penny’s “tear everything up” phase. And when I say everything, she even tore up comforters and pillows. LOL! This time though, the victim was a plush toy. The look on her face is so priceless, like “It wasn’t me. It exploded on its own”. LOL.
I used mostly KaiserCraft pattern papers and stickers, with the light pink pattern paper from Elle’s Studio and Basic Grey pink brads. Really wanted a pop of pink in there from that toy.
The journaling is even a quote from Miss Penny:
Design is based on the sketch for Sketch with a Twist Challenge. The “twist” was to have a decorative border. I used an EK Success paw print edge punch in black.
I used mostly Echo Park “A Dog’s Tail” since it had the colors that matched well with the bed. I used Inkadinkado mist, and washi tapes from Doodlebug, Eyelet Outlet and Simple Stories.
Howl do you sleep? The Shelbster sleeping in a crazy and odd position! LOL.
It was for MMC #2 – recipe challenge. The hostess gave us a list of 10 items to choose from and we had to pick 5. I chose: something wood (veneer chevrons); ink (inked the edges of pp and chevrons); something metal (paw print brads); something that begins with the letter “B” (Bella Blvd pattern papers, stickers, ephemera); use twine
I had just received the Bella Blvd “Cooper” collection and had to use it! Those are the papers, stickers, and tags. Twine is Doodlebug; Alpahs are Echo Park and Bo Bunny and the brads are from Eyelet Outlet. The orange ink is from CTMH.
Hot Dog! Its your birthday! Photos of Shelby and Jasmine the morning of their 3rd birthday earlier this year.
The title was a piece leftover from the Doodlebug Puppy Love collection and I based my layout around those two colors along with a neutral. I used my Cricut to cut out the cut file and used various word phrases in teal from Jillibean Soup, Freckled Fawn and MAMBI. The paw prints are from The Paper Studio.
Hello everyone and no time long “see”! This month has been a busy one and I figured I’d share with you the layouts I’ve created this month by posting them all together.
To start with, Saturday, May 2nd, was National Scrapbooking Day (NSD). There were online crops, challenges, games and blog hops galore! A Cherry On Top hosted a FABULOUS NSD crop and it lasted THREE days! At last count, there were a total of 42 challenges! 42!! I only did about a handful since they were due within one week. But one of our regular members is hosting a REWIND NSD Challenge where you can complete the ones you didn’t get to do.
I’ll show you the ones I did for the actual NSD, then I’ll post the ones I’ve been working on lately for the REWIND challenge. We do have until the end of the month! So I might be able to squeeze in one or two! Who knows!
I did a variety of layouts too – my nephews, furbabies, nephew’s 1st birthday and meeting my bio father/family for the first time.
In no particular order….
After NSD festivities were over with, the girl in charge of the Rewind challenge created an NSD Rewind Challenge. So here are those layouts that I’ve been able to work on throughout the month.
We have until Sunday, so I’m hoping go get a few more done. Wish me luck!
Hello everyone! I took a break from scrapbooking Christmas last weekend and instead, scrapped Thanksgiving! From 2018!
Blessed: I used Reminisce background paper; Bo Bunny banner and journal spot, Elle’s Studio blue word pattern paper, and a Freckled Fawn start paper Clip. Everything else – the polka dot paper, plaid paper, hedeghot sticker, cotton sticker and the leaf sticker are from a PhotoPlay Fall collection.
The design is based on this week’s Becky Fleck Sketch at ACOT:
Bless this Home: I used Bazzill cardstock; PhotoPlay pattern papers and pumpkin stickers; Bo Bunny banner and tree cluster (fussy cut from a journal tag) and Reminisce photo corners and word stickers.
Always Stay Humble and Kind: I used Bo Bunny papers and brads; a PhotoPlay raccoon sticker; Paper Studio denim washi tape and a Reminisce title sticker
Smile: I used Bo Bunny papers, die cuts, brads and chipboard embellishments; an Echo Park stencil; Thickers alphas and a Freckled Fawn gold doily. The gold paste is actually a combination of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Pale Gold and Gold Stickles. I ended up making my own gold glitter paste.
Funny story about that gold glitter paste. Saturday night, I just couldn’t find my gold modeling paste or my gold glimmer/glitter pastes. I found my Nuvo drops, my stickles, my gold gelato, and my gold high impact tattered angels paint but no pastes. So I gave up. Came into my room Sunday morning and thought, well, I better make my own since stores are closed. I tried several mixtures but didn’t like the color (too dull) or texture (too wet). Until I stepped back and made it simpler. I used my Nuvo Drops in Pale Gold and my palette knife with my stencil then came over with it with my Gold Stickles and a soft brush. Let it dry and wholla! Very pretty. I actually prefer THIS over my regular stuff. LOL. Oh and guess what? As soon as I was done with my layout, guess what I found? My gold Glitter paste! Oh well.
The gold looks SO MUCH better IRL and it ended up being rainy and cloudy on Sunday so I couldn’t take a great picture. But here’s the close up:
Good afternoon everyone. Yes, you read right. Christmas layouts in Spring! And its not even last years Christams photos either. Its 2018!
I chose to scrap Christmas because one of the items listed as a “Motivational Challenge” over at ACOT was to create a kit and make a few layouts and/or cards with it. I’m horrible with kits but I only have limited supplies in the Christmas Scrapbooking World. I have one 12×12 paper pad, a 6×8 paper pad, a bag of embellishments and a small container of washi tape.
And here is the kit I created:
And here are the layouts I created using that kit. I did 1 two pager and 4 singles.
Santa Baby: I used everything from my kit except I added some gold heat embossing
The next two layouts are from Christmas 2018, but I didn’t use very much from the kit because they are photos of my girls opening their Christmas presents. I ended up using the DCWV “Christmas Pals” paper stack and PhotoPlay “Muttcracker” collection.
I probably have about 4 more layouts I can do for Christmas 2018 and I’ll be done!
Hello everyone! Last weekend I managed to get 4 layouts completed and they were all for Jasmine and Shelby’s Puppy Photo Shoot from almost 3 years ago. And guess what? I completed the album AND have just bits/pieces leftover from the collection kit I was using – Doodlebug’s “Puppy Love”.
Love at furst sight: Design based on the Becky Fleck Sketch #166. Products used is Bo Bunny background paper and green pattern paper; Basic Grey yellow-orange pattern paper. Everything else is Doodlebug.
“Love You”: Combined two Graphic Design Rewind Challenges – use of Quotations and having no spaces between my title. I used Bo Bunny alphas, Basic Grey chipboard quotations, Jillibean Soup “today” sticker and the rest is Doodlebug.
Fun Times: Another layout submitted to the Graphic Design Rewind Challenge. This one was for “Trails”. I used Bo Bunny pattern papers, Doodlebug enamel dots and paper clips, Thickers, Suzy’s Zoo word phrase stickers, Forever in Time glittered paw prints and ball sticker. The doggie sticker near the title was from stash.
Its’a Dog Thing: I used The Paper Studio cardstock and “dog” sticker, Doodlebug pattern papers and enamel dots, Echo Park “BARK” cut out and alphas and Fancy Pants chipboard.
