More NSD Projects

Hello everyone! I had a busy weekend but managed to squeeze in 3 more NSD projects before the deadline on A Cherry on Top (May 15th @ 11:59 PM).

Black & White Challenge: I used Reminisce pattern paper, sticker, cut apart card; Doodlebug paper clip; Bazzill cardstock; Recollections pawprint punch; WRMKs heart punch. I punched the paw print first, then punched the heart so the paw prints were centered. For the white splatters, I used white Acrylic paint and flicked my brush. The washi tape is from my stash.

Tricky 6×6 Challenge: Since I’m still trying to use up the PhotoPlay “Happy Mad 4 Plaid” collection, I used the 6×6 pad and the matching stickers. Cut the diamonds using my cricut and use Tattered Angels mist for the drops.

The last one is a scraplift. Challenge was Leap Frog (you scraplift the person who posted before you). I totally enjoyed making this layout and will definetly do this design again. Everything is from PhotoPlay “Happy Mad 4 Plaid’.

NSD Projects

Hello everyone! Last weekend was NSD – National Scrapbooking Day (May 6th). A Cherry On Top always has an amazing crop that starts Friday and goes thru Sunday, with challenges due about a week later. I’ve gotten quite a bit done so far.

Not So Fast Scrap: Made 3 tags using the PhotoPlay Happy Mad 4 Plaid

Fast Scrap – Inchies: Create 6 1×1 inch squares and decorate them.

Followed by a challenge. Everything is Doodlebug

DIY Background Challenge. Used 2 different stencils – The Crafter’s Workshop and Stamperia. Simple Stories pattern papers, stickers and Tim Holtz inks (Saltwater Taffy and Bundled Sage)

Summer Movie Challenge. Use a movie poster for inspiration. Alphas are from my stash and everything else is Echo Park “I Love My Cat” collection

Stencil Challenge. Used a Heidi Swapp stencil with TH distress oxide ink in Prized Ribbon. Mist is Tattered Angels in Cork. Used the mist to color the veneer butterflies, then “painted” nuvo drops in bright gold to give them a bit of shimmer. Papers/ephemera is PhotoPlay “Rememberance” collection. Prima flower (one large flower which I took apart), a MME brad and alphas.

Cards using PhotoPlay Happy Mad 4 Plaid

Hello everyone! I was cleaning my scrap room, re-organizing, and purging last month and stumbled upon an old PhotoPlay collection called “Happy Mad 4 Plaid”. It looks like I haven’t used much of it. But with all the bold plaid prints and even busier stickers/ephemera, I thought I would use it to make some cards.

Most of the cards I used a plain cardstock base (from my stash) and items from the collection.

You make me so darn happy: Flowers (Cloud 9 Design), enamel dots (Doodlebug)

Enjoy the Little Things: Bling (Zva Creatives)

Othere cards I created using only PhotoPlay.

And the last card I made took me about 3 hours! I used a PhotoPlay Shutter Card Kit. Very fun to make and the kit came with enough pieces for 3 cards!

Layout: Time to Stop and Smell the Flowers

Hello everyone! This past weekend, I finished a layout that had been sitting on my table for almost 2 weeks. I kept playing with arrangement, papers, embellishments, etc. until I got it right!

Photos are from March 2019. Penny in the front yard, enjoying the Spring air!

I used papers from Paige Evans (Splendid and Garden Shoppe), Thickers and My Little Shoebox alphas, Bo Bunny bling, a MME butterfly, sequin Mix from Picket Fence Studios and KaiserCraft stickers (the large flower and the small flower, circles, phrase). And those stickers are from Paisley Days, an older KaiserCraft collection. It’s crazy how well they match with the Paige Evans papers.

I submitted this layout to 2 ACOT Challenges: Title Challenge and 3 in a Row Challenge. I also used it for my own Pet Challenge (scrap those pets outdoors) that will run thru until May 31st. Check it out here!

Layout: Hello Friend

Hello everyone! Yes, it’s me, posting a layout for the first time in over 6 months. Life was just way too busy but this past weekend I finally made it to my scrap room. To help me, I chose to do the Just a Sketch challenge at A Cherry On Top.

And here’s my take on it:

Mr. Jackson being CUTE!

I used Bazzill cardstock; 7 Paper word art stickers; WRMKs heart punches; Crafter’s Choice blue kitty sticker; and Pebbles “Kid at Heart” pattern paper, 3D title sticker and purple washi tape. The other 2 washi tapes are from stash.

Double Page Layouts

Hello everyone! Over the weekend, I managed to complete TWO double page layouts WITH journaling! And die cuts! And they also happen to be about Jasmine and Shelby playing.

Caught on Camera: Used my cricut to cut out the title and large camera and the journal spot. I spent so much time looking for the perfect papers for my photos and finally settled on some Basic Grey “Fusion” papers, adding black to make things POP! I also used some really old Making Memories green ribbon and a large die cut doggie from Hobby Lobby.

Journaling reads: Jasmine and Shelby love playing tug-of-war together. They will growl at each other, with every tug. I love it when they walk (or run) side by side, with the toy in their mouths. Then it’s back to tugging, followed by chewing and pulling stuffing out.

A Zombie Named Sally: This next two pager took me almost all Sunday. Just trying to find the perfect papers, alphas, washi tape, etc. I pulled colors from the Zombie toy to create my layout. I downloaded the Zombie svg to be my embellishment. And yes, the Zombie is named “Sally”. It’s what was on the tag of the toy. I thought it would make the layout/journaling more fun to scrap.

I ended up using My Mind’s Eye “Hello Gorgeous” papers, with Scenic Route and Simple Stories. Alphas are Sticko (green) and American Crafts (black)

Journaling reads: I had gone to PetCo to buy the girls some treats. They had their Halloween toys on sale, so I bought a few. One was this super fun Zombie named Sally. Both girls loved it. Jasmine started pulling the hot pink hair, then snuggled with it. Shelby loves to chew on the Brains!

So Lovely

Hello everyone! This week’s Becky Fleck Sketch at A Cherry On Top was the perfect sketch for some sweet photos of Miss Penny Lane sporting her new PJs I had bought from Tooth & Honey.

And here’s my take on it:

I wanted to make sure I pulled colors from her PJs, particular the pink, as well making sure I had flowers. The floral paper is from Basic Grey (so is the background paper) and it worked really well with those photos. I added the polka dots papers to help balance things out from MME and used a pop of black to pull from the background from those PJs. The chipboard is also MME. The flowers are from Hobby Lobby and the floral glittery border and alphas are from stash.

Jasmine and Shelby layouts

Good morning everyone! I had a busy weekend last weekend, so I only got to work on a couple of layouts. But they both feature my 5 year old Pyradors!

Happy Adoption Day: Jasmine and Shelby celebrating their 5th Anniversary with cookies, ice cream and toys. April 2022

Everything is Bo Bunny #ForeverYoung.

It is loosly based on the following sketch:

This home is filled with wet nose kisses….

My sweet girls a couple of months ago.

I used Bazzill cardstock, Eyelet Outlet paw print brads and the papers/border strips are all my scraps.

The Snuggle is Real

Good morning everyone! I have a cute layout of Jasmine and Jackson to share with you. They were napping together on the couch last December. I used Echo Park “CAT” papers from a mini kit and Echo Park “MEOW” stickers. I also added a Doodlebug doily and some enamel dots from various manufacturers (Carta Bella, Doodlebug and Simple Stories).

The design is based on the most recent Becky Fleck Sketch challenge offered by A Cherry On Top. I rotated the sketch by 90 degrees.

Warm & Cozy Layout

Hello everyone! I have a cute Jackson layout to share with you. Its based on the ACOT’s Becky Fleck Sketch from last week.

When the temperature drops, Jackson will dive under a blanket on a dog bed and pop his little head out before falling asleep.

I used Simple Stories “Feelin’ Frosty” papers and foam stickers. Cardstock is from Bazzill and washi tape is from my stash.

And here’s the sketch the layout is based on:
