April Challenges

Good afternoon everyone! I usually host the Pet Challenge and the Guest Designer Challenge over at A Cherry On Top, but for April, we switch it up! As an “April Fool’s” prank, we were given another hostess’s challenge. This year, I received the Pattern Paper Challenge and Stamping Challenge.

For Pattern Paper Challenge, I want you to se those scraps and/or 6×6 paper pads to punch out/die cut shapes.

Furever Friends

This layout uses mostly the Bo Bunny “Happy Tails” collection. I don’t have anymore of the 12×12 sheets, but do have (now did) a few 6×6 sheets. I also had a few little die cut shapes from the ephemera pack. I used my 2 inch scalloped punch to punch out the shapes and make a grid like design on my background.

Since I’m not a huge stamper, for the Stamping Challenge, I did a search for stamping techniques and found one that I could do and thought it would be really neat. I chose a technique called “Mirror Stamping”. I even found a great step-by-step tutorial for guidance.

Not Liking The Sweater

My “mirrored” image is the doggie wearing the sweater.

Hope you can head over to A Cherry On Top and check out the rest of April’s challenges!

Old meets New

2 years ago, I did a monthly segment called “Use it or Lose it”, a challenge that forced me to pull out older stash – a variety of papers, embellishments, etc – and try to use them up. I even gave myself a “second chance” the following month. Lately, I gravitate towards anything “new” to use on my pages/cards. Over at A Cherry On Top, Melissa started a “Stash Kit” challenge. This month, we were to pull out 5 “OLD” items and 5 “NEW” items. This is definetly a challenge I needed!

For my “old” stash, I pulled
MME “lush” papers in orange and turquoise
Karen Foster “Summertime” pattern paper
The Paper STudio water droplet stickers
The Paper Studio summer ribbon pack
Reminisce water pattern paper

For my “new” stash, I pulled
Simple Stories heart washi tape
Simple Stories veneers
TH Distress Oxide ink pad
Queen & Co title sticker
Doodlebug turquoise washi tape

The goal for the month is to use up your items. Now, if you had a package of sequins, at least you used a few, that’s cool. Ditto on the washi tape and inks/paints/mists. Try to create as many projects as possible from your “kit”. Layouts, cards, crafts, etc.

So far, I’ve created 3 layouts using the products I pulled from my stash. They are:

Layout #1: Totally Fun
I used TH ink, SS washi tape/veneers and Doodlebug washi tape (NEW) and MME pp and Karen Foster pp (OLD)

Layout #2: This made me laugh
I used MME “lush” papers, Reminisce “ocean” paper, Karen Foster “Summertime” paper, The Paper Studio ribbon (OLD) and Simple Stories veneers (NEW)

This made me laugh

Layout #3: Splish Splash
I used Karen Foster paper, MME paper and The paper studio water stickers (OLD) and Queen & Co title sticker (NEW).

Splish splash

There’s still a few more days in the month and I really do hope I use more of those MME papers and ribbons! Wish me luck!

Our First Vet Visit

Good morning everyone! I have a super cute layout to share with you today. Its based on a sketch from Deanna, who hosts the Sketch w/ a Twist Challenge over at A Cherry On Top.

I really love this sketch. The simple 4×4 pics/paper squares. The border. The huge title. Its awesome and one I’ll save for later!

I chose to scrap Jasmine & Shelby’s first vet visit, which occurred the day after we adopted them. I can’t believe how little they were!

Our First Vet Visit

I used bo bunny cardstock and pattern papers, and embellishments from various manufacturers:

“Save a Life” sticker: MAMBI
paw print stickers: Sticko
“Best Friend” word bubble sticker: Reminisce
“WOOF” sticker, dog die cut: The Paper Studio

Here’s a few close-ups

Journaling reads: We took Jasmine and Shelby to the vet the following day after we adopted them. They did so well, and were so brave. Shelby, though, clung to Rob’s neck for dear life. But Dr. Hoke checked them over and he said they were in good health! April 28, 2017

Man’s Best Friend

Good morning everyone! Today I’d like to share with you Sketch N Scrap’s latest sketch – #113 – designed by the very talented Lisa Hidy:

September 15th layout

And here is my take on it:

Man's Best Friend

I used ONLY Doodlebug “Puppy Love” collection with this layout. Those photos of Mr Jeffrey were taken about 3 1/2 years ago. They were MEANT for this awesome collection!

I chose Doodlebug because I wanted to submit this layout for ACOT’s Manufacturer Challenge. The letter is D and of course, I have nothing else BUT Doodlebug! 🙂

Make sure you stop by the Sketch N Scrap blog and check out the rest of the talented DT’s work. Then join us by uploading your version of the sketch to our blog.

Hi There

Good afternoon everyone! I bet you all are ready for the weekend! I know I am!

Today, I’m sharing with you a layout that I did for my Fashion Challenge on ACOT. Its based on the following Pinterest image:

Fashion Challenge

I just love the color combo, don’t you?!? Here is my take on these gorgeous colors:

Hi There

A cute selfie of Lady Lou and I from 2013. She was such a happy girl!

I used papers/stickers from Fancy Pants “Park Bench”. The chevrons are actually the border strips that I fussy cut from my Use It or Lose It post. I even used the stamps (paw prints, bone, and doggie) from Inkadinkado.

The bling is Prima and MME.
