Layout: Happy Birthday

Sketch-n-Scrap’s latest sketch was so fun to work with, I’ll be saving it to use again. It helped me with ACOT’s “Old is New Again” Challenge.

Here is my layout – featuring my mother with my aunts and grandmother in August 2012. We all got together to celebrate my grandparents’ birthdays.

Not only did this sketch get these pictures scrapped, I combined it with A Cherry On Top’s “What is Old is New Again” Challenge.  The challenge was to use the following photo as inspiration.

Its from a book back in 1955, and we could use it anyway we like. I was going to go with garden-like theme or pictures of my doggies playing outside, but when I saw that it also featured FAMILY, I had a great idea! The photos I used scream FAMILY time and togetherness. The flowers were just an added bonus!

Here is a close up of the flower die cut, which I backed with foam adhesive:

Age is just a Number with NAS #319

The latest Nuts About Sketches sketch uses a two pager. I really enjoyed this one as I could use my pics w/o cropping them! And I had the perfect ones for the orientation too!

Here are my grandparents’ celebrating their 70th and 80th birthday together in August 2012. They are posing on Papa’s tractor.

I really loved the tearing at the bottom, and the large circle. Instead of journaling, I used a decorative pattern paper on the sides, then used some My Minds Eye washi tape. All the other products is Basic Grey “RSVP” collection.

Layout: One Year Older

On Friday, November 8th, we celebrated Penny Lane’s 1st birthday. Its not her true 1st birthday, but we rescued her this time last year. Its amazing how big she has gotten. She has been so fun to have. I always take a photo of my dogs on their birthday, so when I saw ACOT’s Becky Fleck sketch for the week, I knew I had to scrap Penny’s birthday photo. Here is the sketch:
