A Colorful Day

Hey ya’ll! This next layout was inspired by Let’s Get Sketchy’s newest sketch and ACOT’s MMC #3 challenge – stamping, but with a twist. We had to create our background by stamping with something unusual. I actually tried this a few times on scrap paper and never liked anything I came up with until I went into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water, when I saw it. Sitting on the counter. Next to the wine rack. A wine cork! I tried it and really liked the results!

A colorful Day

And here is the sketch:

LGS Week 4 July

I loved the 2 photo sketch, and the ric rac was perfect! The ink, ribbon, bling are all from CTMH with the chipboard pieces from MAMBI. The turquoise paper and paper clip are from The Paper Studio while the pink paper and alphas are Basic Grey. And yes, I finally used that lonely teal flower from my original July Use It or Lose It Challenge! Better late than never right?!!

Girls Scrappy Weekend!

My scrappy friends came over this past weekend to, what else, scrap! We had tons of fun! My wonderful hubby made us fajitas and homemade guacamole and chips and for breakfast, we had scones and waffles. YUMMY! It was great!

I managed to get NINE layouts done. Yes, you read correctly, NINE. Usually I only do 4 or 5, but my mojo showed up and STAYED!

Sweet Girl: ACOT’s Cherryland Challenge. I chose Maraschino  Cherry using a b/w photo with colored supplies

Sweet Girl

This is Awesome: ACOT’s Mood Board Challenge. I was inspired by all the colors – orange, pink, yellow, brown. I liked the large ampersand, polka dots, the white cursive writing (title, love sticker), heart. I used gold hearts and a gold puffy sticker.

This is Awesome

Sew Sweet: ACOT’s Pet Challenge. I used the colors – green, pinks, and teal from the mood board; and the sketch.

Sew Sweet

You are my Sunshine: ACOT’s 3 in a Row Challenge. Used middle column – green, something gold, and twine

You are my Sunshine

My World Revolves Around All Of You: ACOT’s Music Challenge. I was inspired by the solid black background, with the bright colors and the silverish triangle. Instead of triangles, I used circles mostly. Used my shimmerz Texture paste and a stencil, and then cut out my photos into different sized circles. Fussy cut some OLD OLD OLD BASIC GREY (Lime Rickey!) to use as photo mats. Then I fussy cut the wavy paper and attached it to the top and left sides of the page. I cut out my title using my Cricut.

My World Revolves Around All of You

Beautiful You: ACOT’s Spelling Challenge. We had to use the word SCRAPLIFT.
S = Studio Calico alphas
C = Chevron stickers
R = Rhinestones
A = Argyle yellow pattern paper
P = Pink Title
L = “locator” sticker
I = Imaginesce lime green paper
F = Fussy cut arrow
T = Turquoise mini alphas

Beautiful You

I used quite a bit from my Use It or Lose It Challenge that I posted June 1st. Basic Grey “Lime Rickey” collection, Studio Calico “Sundrifter” collection, and Prima crystal bling.

I’ll be back later with 2 more from my Scrappy Weekend. I know that adds up to EIGHT. The other one was for Sketch N Scrap DT. 😉

Sketch N Scrap Sketch #105

Hello everyone and good morning! Today we are showcasing Sketch #105 designed by the talented Kelly Holifield!

May 15th Layout

This sketch has so many possibilities! And here is what I came up with!

Selfies with Momma

I used some super cute selfies of me with Ruby and Jeffrey taken a few years ago. Those die cut hearts are from the Cricut cart “Edge to Edge”. They were free in the CCR the week of May 10th. I love that cartridge so much, I think I’m going to have to buy it!

DSCN6578

The pattern papers are from Basic Grey, Hey Girl! collection, with washi tape by American Crafts. The chipboard pieces are all from Bo Bunny (see May Use It or Lose It Challenge). I thought the addition of the paw prints inside the heart-shape word bubble was a great idea!

DSCN6579

I just LOVE that banner! And get this! I cut those hearts FIRST…before realizing to pick up those chipboard pieces from Bo Bunny. And the greatest thing is is the banner fits PERFECTLY across that one heart! Win-win!

DSCN6580

My title is a mixture of My Little Shoebox and Thickers from Amy Tangerine. I colored the banner using 3 different shades of gelatos from Faber-Castell. I did that to submit this layout for the Title Challenge over at ACOT this month. We are to paint under our title. I really love the look of this technique!

I also combined it with the Cherryland Challenge. This month, I went with the painting for Princess Maraschino as inspiration. I went with pics of me and the pups, using a cherry red cardstock for the die cuts. The rest of the layout is quite soft in colors.

As always, check out the other layouts by the very talented Sketch N Scrap DT!

Sketch N Scrap Card #73

Good morning everyone! Today’s card sketch is created by the very talented Kelly Holifield!

May 5th Card

I abosloutely LOVE the flowers on this, with the banners and the sentiment. A very simple card for any occasion.

Let Them Eat Cake

I chose a cardstock base, with scraps from Basic Grey “Paper Cottage” collection. I used foam adhesive for the sentiment and the flower centers.

Make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap blog and check out the rest of the DT’s cards.

As always, TFL! 🙂

Puppy Kisses

Good evening all! This next layout uses up quite a bit of my stash – buttons, Basic Grey, buttons, washi tape and did I say buttons?

Buttons are the subject for ACOT’s Use Your Stash Challenge. And its not to just use a few here and there. We are supposed to use LOTS of buttons. And I used 30!

Puppy Kisses

The pics are from October 2011 featuring selfies of Kandie and I. She ended up giving me kisses that day!

DSCN6481

The buttons are from my stash, as well as the wide washi tape. The pattern paper, stickers, and alphas are from Basic Grey “Paper Cottage”; “noted” washi tape is from The Paper Studio and the “xoxo” stamp is from my stash. All of these items are from my April Use It or Lose It Challenge.

The design for this layout is based on the sketch that Sara M posted for the Smash Up Challenge.

I rotated it 90 degrees to better suit my needs.

TFL! 🙂

Happy Girl and I {heart} You

My first layout is of pics of my cousin’s little girl, during Thanksgiving 2014. She was 2 at the time, and I just love her smile!

Happy Girl

Most products are Bo Bunny, with the cork pieces from Teresa Collins and brad from Basic Grey. Both items are from my March Use It Or Lose It Challenge.

DSCN6401

I added the owl rub-on onto the cork hexagon.

DSCN6402

DSCN6403

I used a brad and inserted into the center of the cork flower.

My second layout is of my sweet baby Bear. This photo is so priceless, taken by my photographer friend almost 3 years ago. Just looking at this pic just makes my heart melt:

I heart you

The layout is based on Paper Issues March Sketchy Saturday Sketch:

paper issues sketch

I fell in love with ink splatters and the one photo design. My list of supplies are as follows:

papers, alphas, brads (March Use It Or Lose It Challenge): Basic Grey (Hey Girl!, Max & Whiskers, Knee Highs and Bow Ties)
veneer hearts: Studio Calico (colored using Clearsnap ink in Celadon and Tattered Angels mist in Blackberry Cordial)
ink blot stamps: CTMH
mist: Tattered Angels in Mallard

I did my title in the “I {heart} You” format to be submitted to ACOT’s Graphic Design Challenge. I went back and did February 2013 – to substitute a heart for the word LOVE. And everybody knows how much I LOVED my baby Bear! Still do!

TFL! 🙂

Giving Thanks

Good afternoon! I had my scrappy friends over this weekend, and it was alot of fun (as always!) I worked on Thanksgiving 2014 pics and managed to get 5 layouts done. I only have just a few more pics to go, and by the looks at it, I think I get this album done in about 3 layouts! 🙂

The first one is based on the Scraplift the Guest Designer Challenge I’m hosting over at ACOT. Here is Nancy’s original layout:

gd

And here is my take on it:

Give Thanks (3)

I used Basic Grey “Persimmon” collection (papers, stickers), with cork embellishments from CTMH and Elle’s Studio.

giving thanks pl card

I created my own Project Life card based on this sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

project life sketch

I rotated it counter clockwise to better suite my needs.

With the creation of that PL card, this layout also fits the Guest Designer’s Challenge #4 – Using Project Life cards! Win-win-win!

Sketch N Scrap Throwback Thursday #2

Good morning everyone! Leah is hosting Throwback Thursday this week and she chose sketch #52 from Lisa Hidy:

March 10th - Leah as Hostess

I was originally going to do all pattern paper, but it just got too busy, so I went with pattern paper strips behind my photo and used a border sticker to separate the two halves:

March 10th Layout

The papers are Basic Grey “Persimmon” collection and all the enamel dots are from Doodlebug.

Make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the inspiration from the DT. And as always TFL! 🙂

Born 2 Ride

Jeffrey is the only one of our dogs who just LOVES to ride with us! He perfers to be in my hubby’s lap, with the window rolled down, but he’ll settle sitting in the passenger side too. We were headed to the bank one day last March and you can just tell how much he enjoyed it!

Born to Ride

I used alot of Basic Grey collections here. Hey Girl!, Hey You!, Hey Boy!, Hello!, and Hipster. The only items that aren’t Basic Grey are the washi tapes (Bella Blvd & CTMH), word art stickers (Loving Life, Happiness, Joy – all Fancy Pants), and mini alphas (My Little Shoebox). Here are a few close ups:

DSCN6388

DSCN6389

I alternated the washi tapes to suit ACOT’s Washi Challenge, and the design came from using Let’s Get Sketchy, February Week 4 Sketch:

feb wk4

I LOVED the single photo sketch, with all the layers and clusters. It was the perfect fit for all the little embellishments I used! Speaking of embellishments, some of them are from my Use It Or Lose It February post! The Fancy Pants word art stickers, and the BG “Hey You!” flags. I removed the toothpicks and just used them as die cuts (So Awesome!; You & Me).

TFL! 🙂

Love and My Peeps

These next 2 layouts both use things I randomly selected for my January Use It or Lose It Challenge. I am using this month to use up whatever I didn’t use last month. Just to give things “one last chance”.

First up is the Bo Bunny “Alora” pattern paper.

Love

I cut the sheet in half, and used a few of the chipboard pieces to showcase these cute pics of my husband holding Bella and Lola back in 2011.

With that said, all I have left from that collection is the other half of the pattern paper and some chipboard pieces. I went ahead and punched out the pieces and they are now considered my “go to embellishments” when a layout or card needs that “one more thing”. They were a bunch of starts, hearts and flowers. Perfect!

I also used ACOT’s Becky Fleck Sketch #110 to help my mojo:

331528-490

The second layout is using up the Basic Grey “Fact or Fiction” sheet of paper. I kept looking at that sheet, but it just wasn’t doing much for me. LOL. So I flipped it over and saw that it was a very distressed yellow. Not my color, but when paired with the following pics of me posing with some PEEPS candy back in 2011, it was a perfect match!

My Peeps

I used other sheets from that collection (the 6X6 paper pad), along with chipboard stickers from a VERY OLD Creative Imaginations “PEEPS” collection.

I now have a bunch of scraps from the Basic Grey collection, quite a bit from 6X6 paper pad and a bunch of odds/ends from sticker sheets and embellishment packs. Time for me to sift thru and clean up that little bag too!

All I have left now is the MME Lush 2 fuschia pattern paper and the hot pink Webster’s Pages ribbon. Off to see what I can find to scrap with those 2 items!

TFL! 🙂
