You are my Sunshine

Good morning everyone! Today’s Sketch N Scrap card is designed by the verly talented Heather Hall:

August 20th Card

Just check out the possibilities of this one!

And here is my version of it:

You are my Sunshine

Instead of banner pieces, I chose use metal charms from Bo Bunny, along with a project life-style card. I wrapped it in twine, and added glitter (lol..yes..ACTUAL glitter!).

Make sure you stop by the Sketch N Scrap blog and check out the rest of the DT’s work! Fabulous cards for sure!

So many blessings…

Good morning everyone! Sketch N Scrap has a brand new sketch by Mandy:

August 15th Layout

And here’s my take on it:

So many blessings

I used 2 white doilies instead of one large circle, adding a journal card. Journaling reads:

My cousin Randy gives out the best hugs. Just look how happy my aunt is!

The doilies are Bo Bunny; enamel shapes are Webster’s Pages and cork ampersand is Studio Calico. All other products – pattern paper, journal card and die cuts – are from Elles Studio “Thankful” collection. When this collection first hit stores last year, I was hesitant, as it was blues and pinks and turquoise. A bit odd for family and “thanksgiving” pictures. But my fave store – A Cherry On Top – offered all Thanksgiving/Autumn collections 40-70% off during the 4th of July. The more I looked at the collection, the more I wanted it. And I snagged most of it. LOL. 2-4 sheets of each paper, die cuts, journal cards, embelliest, etc. Once it was delivered…WOW! It was even more gorgeous in person. I’m so happy I bought it!!

Make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap and check out the rest of DT’s creations. Amazing work as always!

Count Your Blessings

Good afternoon everyone! This next layout was inspired by Bo Bunny’s awesome July sketch:

July2016sketch

And here is my take on it:

Count Your Blessings

I used mostly Bo Bunny “Country Garden” papers, fussy cutting the sayings, the butterfly and frames. The chipboard frame and flourishes and bling are all Bo Bunny. The small bluish pattern paper, torn, is Bo Bunny “Etc”.  The bling is from my Use It or Lose It Challenge.

Photos are of Lady Lou, Jeffrey James, and Lady Bear back in May 2013. Sadly, the girls have both passed away – Lady Lou in 2014 and Bear last year. I felt the title fit really well.

I’m combining this layout with ACOT’s 3 in a Row Challenge. I chose the Middle Row: chipboard (the flourishes and frames); lined paper (photo mats and background paper); double matted photo (the large one at the top).

Sketch N Scrap Sketch #105

Hello everyone and good morning! Today we are showcasing Sketch #105 designed by the talented Kelly Holifield!

May 15th Layout

This sketch has so many possibilities! And here is what I came up with!

Selfies with Momma

I used some super cute selfies of me with Ruby and Jeffrey taken a few years ago. Those die cut hearts are from the Cricut cart “Edge to Edge”. They were free in the CCR the week of May 10th. I love that cartridge so much, I think I’m going to have to buy it!

DSCN6578

The pattern papers are from Basic Grey, Hey Girl! collection, with washi tape by American Crafts. The chipboard pieces are all from Bo Bunny (see May Use It or Lose It Challenge). I thought the addition of the paw prints inside the heart-shape word bubble was a great idea!

DSCN6579

I just LOVE that banner! And get this! I cut those hearts FIRST…before realizing to pick up those chipboard pieces from Bo Bunny. And the greatest thing is is the banner fits PERFECTLY across that one heart! Win-win!

DSCN6580

My title is a mixture of My Little Shoebox and Thickers from Amy Tangerine. I colored the banner using 3 different shades of gelatos from Faber-Castell. I did that to submit this layout for the Title Challenge over at ACOT this month. We are to paint under our title. I really love the look of this technique!

I also combined it with the Cherryland Challenge. This month, I went with the painting for Princess Maraschino as inspiration. I went with pics of me and the pups, using a cherry red cardstock for the die cuts. The rest of the layout is quite soft in colors.

As always, check out the other layouts by the very talented Sketch N Scrap DT!

Sketch N Scrap Flashback Friday #2

Good morning everyone and welcome to Sketch N Scrap’s Flashback Friday! Today I chose a sketch from December 2012

May 13th - Hosted by Me

I just fell in love with it the moment I saw it. I love the large die cut piece in the back. So here is my take on it:

2 Happy Girls

I used the Cricut cart “Edge to Edge” for the die cut piece, with the chipboard pieces from Bo Bunny “Alora” collection.

DSCN6572

The alphas are from Amy Tangerine, and the washi is by Love My Tapes.

DSCN6573

I combined this with a NSD Challenge over at ACOT – Donna’s Spelling Challenge. We had to use our first name, with NSD at the end. So my name would be BRANDYNSD. Here is my recipe and what those items are in my layout:

B = Bo Bunny Chipboard
R = Red cardstock
A = American Crafts Green Cardstock
N = Number
D = Die Cuts
Y = Yellow labels
N = Names
S = Stars
D = Damask Washi Tape

Don’t forget to stop over at Sketch N Scrap‘s blog and check out the rest of the DT layouts. Remember, you have until May 31st to play along!

One in a Million

My family is definetly “One in a Million”. And this layout features a photo of my mom with her li’l sister, taken during Thanksgiving last year.

One in a Million

I submitted this layout for the ACOT “My Mom” Challenge. I used lots of Bo Bunny “Isabella” collection – stickers and papers, which one sticker sheet is from my original April Use It or Lose It challenge. I also used both the MME wooden brads and the Basic Grey pink brads for this layout.

The doilies are from Doodlebug. The black hearts are glitter paste by Bo Bunny, using a heart stencil from Heidi Swapp.

Keep Calm & Carry On

The next layout is based on Bo Bunny’s March Sketch, which is awesome in itself

Bo bunny

And my layout:

Keep Calm and Carry On

I followed it pretty well, using tons of layers. I used Bo Bunny’s “Family Is…” collection, and washi tape by Bella Blvd. All the little pieces – die cuts and layers – are from the die cut package that I challenged myself to use from February’s Use It or Lose It Challenge.

Old Friends and Food Coma

Funny combination, right? LOL! THis is what happens when you jump around when you scrap AND you want to use the items you pulled from your stash for the Use It or Lose It challenge!

First up, I used the MME “29th Street Market”. It was a solid purple, but flipped it over, and it was this really pretty (busy) damask print. Kind of vintage looking. So I used that piece, tearing it into a wide strip as part of my background.

Old Friends

I went with the whole purple monochromatic look for this layout, to match the dresses in these pics. They were take a few years ago at a wedding. I also used twine (wrapped around the photo) and my WRMKs SewEasy Circle to stitch the very large circle. Both the SewEasy and the pattern paper are from my March Use It or Lose It post.

The other items I used on this layout are washi tapes (Queen & Co), a stencil I created using my cricut, mists (Tattered Angels), paper clips (Freckled Fawn), flowers (Bo Bunny), bling (Zva Creative) and alphas (Webster’s Pages).

Here is a close up of those flowers:

DSCN6394

My second layout is about my cousin who passed out after the big Thanksgiving Dinner from 2014. His mom took this picture and its priceless! I used gelatos in snow cone, metallic blueberry, pistachio, and aqua dolce to create my very messy background. I chose to use the packaging technique:

Food Coma

DSCN6398

I then added several little stamps from Basic Grey and Close To My Heart (LOVE those splatters!)

DSCN6396

DSCN6397

The stickers are all from Bo Bunny – “Welcome Home” and “ETC” collection, both items are from my original March Use It Or Lose It Challenge. I did try the Bo Bunny rub-ons from my February Use It or Lost It post and those rub-ons would not work at all. I guess they were just too old.

My alphas are from SEI and washi tapes are from Glitz Designs and Love My Tapes.

My messy background was perfect for the Make a Mess Challenge over at ACOT. You can use gelatos, mists, inks, watercolors – just make a mess!

Love is you & me

This next layout started out a little differently. I was planning on doing the “Release Your Inner Child” challenge over at ACOT – where the hostess chose a cute book title “Love is you and me“. Its on youTube and has alot of “Love is…” quotes. We had to choose one and use it on our project. I was planning on using a photo of me and my hubby, but as I was searching thru pics, I came across these 2 pics of my girls – Ruby and Bear back in April 2015. 3 months before Bear got sick. These pics were just so cute, I couldn’t resist:

Love is you & Me

Journaling reads: Bear had been at the vet all day. When we brought her home, I gave the girls each a biscuit. They immediately laid next to each other to eat their snack. It was the sweetest moment to watch.

I used Bo Bunny “Love Letters” pattern papers, chipboard pieces, and stickers. I fussy cut the doily, and I saw it had faux stitching around it, so I re-inforced the stitching. The pink mini alphas are from My Little Shoebox, and the date is from a roller stamp by CTMH.

My layout is based on ACOT’s Becky Fleck Sketch #111

332475-490

I was going to use my Cricut to cut out a very large, intricate heart, but when I pulled out the Bo Bunny “Love Letters” collection, I knew I was going to use a doily, which I fussy cut.

Athena

Cut files are very popular in the scrappy world and backing all or part of a cut file with pattern paper is even MORE popular! With that said, Sara’s Use Your Stash challenge is just that!

Athena

I chose to use my Cricut and cut several paw print borders from the Paper Pups cartridge. I backed each paw print using old kitty collections – Bo Bunny and TPC Studio.

This layout is also being submitted to ACOT’s Spelling Challenge. Sandi chose the word ROMANCE:

R = Ribbon (TPC Studio)
O = Orange background paper (from stash)
M = Mist (black drops, Tattered Angels)
A = Alphas (Bo Bunny)
N = Numbers (My Little Shoebox)
C = Chipboard (Kitty – Bo Bunny; Circle tag – TPC Studio)
E = Enamel Dots (white/black – Freckled Fawn)

The design for this layout is based on Let’s Get Sketchy, February Week 2 sketch, by the very talented Bev Code:
