Happy Birthday

Good morning everyone! Today I have a wonderful and fun card sketch designed by the very talented Heather Hall at Sketch N Scrap!

How fun are those tags, huh?

And here is my take on it:

happy-birthday

I’ve had all of these items in my stash for at least a few years so it was great to use them! The “Party Animal” sticker is from Karen Foster and that is what I started with while making this card. I then pulled the colors from that sticker – orange, purple, green and white – to use for tags and layering. The twine is from Doodlebug and the small “Happy Birthday” sentiment is from Carta Bella.

TFL and make sure you stop by the Sketch N Scrap blog to check out the rest of the amazing cards created by the DT. Hope you can play along with us this month!

Be Happy

Happy Memorial Day! Let’s take a moment to thank all veterans and active duty for their service. And a special thank you for all who made the ultimate sacrifice to keep us free and safe. I salute you!

I have a card that I’d like to share with you today. I actually started this on Saturday, but just couldn’t get the stamping to look right. It ended up being my ink, as I grabbed my black pigment ink and it looks great!

The stamp is from Inkadinkado and its on my list from my original May 2016 Use it or Lose it challenge. The blingy border is old Webster’s Pages trim, and the black is CTMH. This was submitted to ACOT’s Use Your Stash Challenge – ribbons and trims!

NSD 2016

National Scrapbooking Day was quite a success in my book! On that day (May 7th), I managed to do 4 Fast Scraps and 2 Challenges at ACOT. Their challenges weren’t due until May 13th, so I got about 8 more squeezed in! Whew!

Pretty In Pink

I used quite a bit of my stash that I pulled for my May Use It Or Lose It Challenge. I used the following items:

  • Wooden buttons from Basic Grey
  • Red rose ribbon
  • Kimberly Polsen Mat stack by Fiskars
  • MME “My Story” flair
  • Sequins by MME “Fancy That”
  • Bo Bunny “Head over Heels” chipboard
  • Basic Grey “Urban Prairie” papers

I also knocked out the entire set of pics I took at my friend’s little girl’s 1st birthday last fall, and quite a bit of pics from our scrappy girls photo shoot taken 5 years ago!

Cards: Cheer & Home is where the Heart is

Sketch-N-Scrap has two awesome card sketches this month. I used one to create a Christmas card (never too early to start on those!) and a house-warming card for a friend who just moved into a new home.

First card is the Christmas card. I used mostly scraps that I had from a previous project, paired with washi tape from MME and stamping. I stamped the stars, Christmas trees, and the “Cheer” sentiment. Its also for the Christmas Challenge at ACOT (using trees).

The second card I made uses Webster’s Pages “Park Drive” collection. The colors work so well with each other. And the sticker with the phrase “Home is where the Heart is” is perfect for a house-warming card. And my friend LOVED it!
