Week 36 in Review: Adorable Furbabies!

Good morning everyone – and good afternoon to some of ya too! Its still hot down here in South Texas, and my doggies have been chilling in the house lately, being little hams. So here are some highlights from the past week.

My parents’ dog Little Bit, not liking that I am taking his photo while he eats:

Dog Lover and Sketch-N-Scrap #57

Here’s my 2nd reveal for May Guest Designer spot over at Sketch-N-Scrap!

Dog Lover - Sketch 57

This was taken in Jan 2009 – Ruby is on the right, my parents’ dogs Kandie and Little Bit are sharing a blanket on the other side.

Here’s some close-ups:

Its based on this wonderful sketch that Heather sent me:

I fell in love with the triangles and the strips, allowing me to use up some scraps in my stash. I paired the new Queen & Co Doggie papers/embellies with some older Queen & Co Doggie papers. I dressed up the flair by backing it with a flower, and adding the “love” veneer embellie was the perfect touch to finish the layout!

I really enjoyed being the Guest Designer at Sketch-N-Scrap this month. You should totally check them out. They always have amazing sketches!

Layout: Happy Tails

When my ACOT order filled with the new Queen & Co “Dog Days” collection came in yesterday, I was so thrilled to just forget about work and get to scrapping. Well, I had to wait until later on in the day, but I didn’t wait much longer. OMG I love the papers and the stickers and the flairs are adorable. As I was looking thru the challenges and sketches I’ve printed out so far this month, I knew when I grabbed the Becky Fleck Sketch Challenge that ACOT is offering, that I’d do a doggie page using my new goodies!

Here’s my layout with my sweet Lady Bear enjoying the great outdoors!

DSCN3365

The pattern paper and the “You had me at woof” sticker, along with the “My dog” flair and the border sticker is by Queen & Co. The colors work so well with other pet lines – including the Bo Bunny “Happy Tails” collection – which I used a 3X4 journaling card, a 4X6 journaling card and the “Happy Tails” title.

DSCN3363

The layout is based on this wonderful sketch:

274620-490

I was debating on whether I was going to use a light background with dark mist; or a dark background with a white mist. But then I saw the veneer stars in my stash by Studio Calico and I just thought it was the PERFECT touch to the title, leaving the misting or anything else out of the layout on the bottom half (the pattern paper is bold enough IMO). The heart is cut out using MME 6X6 paper pad “Remarkable” and the cork arrow is by Fancy Pants.

This layout is also for the ACOT 3 in a Row Challenge. The hostess gave us 9 items and we choose 3 in a row. Mine are “free choice” (the veneers); color green; and the arrow.

Week 9 in Review: Adorable Furbabies

Good afternoon all! Boy did my furbabies have an interesting week! It all started with my BFF moving out, making some doggies a little sad with all the shuffling and moving things around.

Here’s Lady in the hallway between the bedrooms.

My BFF was taking the twin bed so Ruby and Bear wanted to sleep on it ONE LAST TIME:

Later on in the week, I was trying to take a picture of a two pager so I could upload it. Well, with all the photos this layout had, I had a hard time getting a good picture. So I had to put it on the floor, and I had some help in that department:

And last but not least, I took more pics of the doggies outside. Friday was a very very warm day (we hit a high of 88!)

Weeks 5 & 6: Adorable Furbabies!

I’m sure some of you noticed that I didn’t post Week 5 Adorable Furbabies last Monday. Reason? My camera croaked on me. I’ve had it for five years and its been so good to me. After looking at forums, FAQs, and changing settings, it still didn’t work properly. It was weird too, as I could take pics of my layouts, as long as it was dark in the room. But for the doggie pics, that’s a little hard to do, especially if they are doing something REALLY cute at that exact moment! Who has time to turn off the lights to take pictures? I sure don’t and my pups won’t “pause” their cuteness for me to do that either. LOL. I did however, get to take a couple of pics of them (in the dark). And they were of Miss Penny Lane.

Staying warm in front of the gas heater:

And with the lights off in the living room and I snapping practically blindly, here she is being a cutie:

She sure does love the camera! Or the camera loves her!

Anyways, my husband and I went over to Best Buy last Wednesday and looked at cameras. I wanted something I could slip in my pocket and I love Nikon’s Coolpix. My old one was a Nikon Coolpix and we saw a few I wanted but they were either (a) sold out and wouldn’t get anymore for at least 4-6 weeks or (b) just couldn’t afford it. So I got the Nikon Coolpix S6500. Its very similar to my old one, but it has greater photo quality, zooms in more, and other fun settings. So lets get started with some more doggie pics!

It was semi-cool outside last Friday, so I took some pics of the pups outside. Here is Lady:

And Bear:

And Penny (again!):

Tried getting pics of the others, but they came out really blurry. Still playing with settings on my new camera.

And last but not least, Penny inside chewing on a Nylabone.

Week 4 in Review: Adorable Furbabies!

Boy has it been cold lately!!Β  My doggies are used to 60’s and 70’s for winter, NOT 30’s! So, with the cold snap we had last Friday (30 degrees, wind chill of 18 and freezing rain), I had to put a sweater on Miss Penny Lane. And by looking at her expression, she was not a happy camper!

DSCN2792

DSCN2793

Ruby had to wear her hoodie. And she’s one of the few dogs who enjoys it! She will even run up to me when she sees it in my hand and actually put her head thru the hole!

DSCN2802

And last but not least, my brother and sister in law came over yesterday and they brought THEIR two furbabies – Bella & Max. I could never get Max to settle down but Bella was being so sweet (and patient) about the pics.

Isn’t she just the CUTEST?!?!?!

Week 49 in Review: Adorable Furbabies!

Good morning and hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. With the weather colder than we are accustomed to down here, the doggies are all staying inside, keeping us entertained. As always.

To start us off, we have my big girls – Ruby and Bear. There was this turquoise rabbit thingy that has an empty water bottle inside of it that they kept playing with for most of an afternoon.

DSCN2382

They kept going back and forth with it, and then when they noticed that Mommy had the camera, they actually smiled for me!

DSCN2357 DSCN2388

While the big girls were having some fun, Penny was busy being nosy and wanted to know what I was “up to”. I just love her eyes!

DSCN2376

Then this weekend, with the colder temps really hitting us, my BFF’s little doggie Princess hung out with my husband, as she loves to snuggle on your lap. He took off his beanie and rolled it up and put it on her head. I’m surprised she stayed for a picture! Isn’t she the cutest?!?!

DSCN2410

And to end our adorable week, I was able to take a very sweet picture of Jeffrey, hanging out with Daddy last night, right before bedtime!

Until next Monday, bark on! πŸ™‚

Week 48 in Review: Adorable Furbabies!

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday with Family and Friends.

To start us off, Ruby and Penny decided one day last week that they would only play with their PINK toys:

DSCN2232

I absolutely LOVE this picture. Got both of them looking at me, then their “pink” toys are all in a row. Smart doggies or what?

DSCN2239

But the toy they both wanted? The pink elephant. And guess who won?

DSCN2245

LOL! If you guessed Penny, you were right!

And to wrap up this week, Jeffrey was sitting at the Dining room table, just watching me in the kitchen. What a sweetheart!

DSCN2313

Until next Monday, bark on!

Week 47 in Review: Adorable Furbabies!

The doggies have had a fun and exciting week! Before that front blew in Friday morning, the doggies were enjoying the last few warm days:

DSCN2165

DSCN2133

But over the weekend, after being stuck inside due to rainy, windy 40 degree weather, Penny got bored of playing withΒ  her toys and decided to destroy one of them

DSCN1981

She is SO fascinated with the stuffing!

My favorite photo, though, is of Jeffrey. Just look at that smile. Doesn’t that just melt your heart?

Until next Monday, bark on!

Week 44 in Review: Adorable Furbabies!

Its Monday and I’ve got super cute pics of the doggies!!

First, my parents came to visit last Thursday and they brought Little Bit and Kandie with them. Kandie flat out refused to have her picture taken, but Mr. LB was a ham!

DSCN1915

After all the picture taking of LB and Kandie, someone else decided to pose for me really pretty!!

DSCN1923

After all the excitement was over and done with and my parents went back home, Bear took a nap with a toy (you can see it slightly under her neck).

DSCN1937

And last but not least, Ruby was enjoying tummy rubs under the scrap table.

DSCN1956

Hope you enjoyed this week’s pics!! TFL! πŸ™‚
