May Fashion Challenge

This morning I posted my May Fashion Challenge over at A Cherry On Top. Its based on this really cool Pinterest Image:

May Fashion Challenge

Isn’t that the coolest?!?!? Who doesn’t love crayons!

My challenge is this:
There are 2 approaches you can go with. ONE, go monochromatic. Choose ONE color and ONE neutral/metallic. Or TWO, use all the colors of the rainbow (red, green, yellow, blue, purple, orange, and so forth) with neutrals/metallics.

Here is my example:

Hello Card

I chose to go with a monochromatic look. I went with PINK, using different shades of pink and chose gold as my neutral/metallic. My papers, the die cut “Hello”, enamel heart and the chipboard butterfly are from MME “My Story” collection. The washi tape is from American Crafts and sequins are by Teresa Collins. The banner at the top is from Crate Paper, and I colored it using a gold gelato and topping it with gold glitter paste by Bo Bunny.

And here are my rules for my challenge, if you want to play along:

1. Please post here with your work (ACOT Fashion Challenge thread)
2. All is welcome! Paper, digi, card-making, projects, whatever floats your boat!
3. You may combine with any other May challenge but NO NSD CHALLENGES.
4. Due June 12th, at 11:59PM
5. One lucky random winner will receive a $5 ACOT gc from me!
6. You may enter this challenge more than once, but please limit yourself to separate THREE entries.

If you want to join in on this fun challenge, please head over to A Cherry On Top! You have until June 12th!!

TFL! 🙂

I Love My Family

I had alot of ideas flowing thru my brain for this next layout. I really wanted to use the last sheet of SEI “Homestead” pattern paper from my stash (as well as using it towards my Use It or Lose It Challenge), and I thought it would be perfect match for the Let’s Get Sketchy January Week 2 sketch:

So I started adding gesso to tone it down, then using the packaging technique, added some mist to it:

EPIC FAIL! YIKES! That is NOT the result I wanted. I hated to waste that paper, but on the flip side, the mixed media DID NOT seep thru AND the back side of that paper is a rich, dark plaid pattern. So I salvaged it by doing lots of tearing, and this is the result:

I Love My Family

Did my mixed media using Tattered Angels mist in Cork, which is a light brown. The background paper is by Photo Play, as wel as the stickers and photo mats. The title is MAMBI and the chipboard circle peeking out on the side is from my stash. I added gold glitter glue so it wouldn’t look so blah.

I’m submitting this layout to ACOT’s Manufacture Challenge. The letters this month or P and T. P for Photo Play; T for Tattered Angels.

I’m also hosting my Fashion Challenge over at ACOT as well. I still need to post it, but I’m using the following image that I found on Pinterest:

Lovin’ the rich colors, aren’t you? And adding gold for a bit added “Wow!”.

Layout: Adorable

Sketch-N-Scrap’s latest sketch – #66 – inspired me to scrap these “adorable” photos of Penny from November 2012.

Adorable

I really loved how it used four photos and the large circle.

I chose this color scheme for my October Fashion Challenge I’m hosting at ACOT. Since its Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I was inspired to use some pink in my layout. I also chose a couple of embellies with the word “LOVE” in them to show how much I really love Miss Penny Lane.

Layout: My Little Sweetie

I came across these photos of Penny Lane when she was just a pup – about 6 months old. She was so little! And looking oh-so-cute!

My Little Sweetie

This layout is based on Let’s Get Sketchy’s Sketch – Week One for September:

September, 2014 Team A week 1

I really had fun with this one, with all the white space. I used washi tape at the bottom and added a cluster of flowers/bling in the corner:

At the top, I added a small piece of washi, along with a charm/twine, and a brad, with a sprinkling of sequins and mist:

I cut my title using Cricut cartridge “Opposites Attract”, and the Cricut Craft Room to weld some of the letters together:

This layout is also for my Fashion Challenge that I’m hosting at ACOT for the month of September (its due Oct 5th). You all have heard about that one rule – no white on labor day? Well, I say throw out that rule and wear white whenever! So I’m challenging everyone to use a white background, along with ONE other color (mine was lilac) and a metallic (mine was silver). I hope you will come and play along!

Layout: Peek-A-Boo!

This next layout features my brother’s dog, Max, who likes to get under comforters and blankets (even if its not even cold!).

Peek a Boo!

Its based on Let’s Get Sketchy’s Week One sketch for March:

I just LOVE all the white space and with that said, it was perfect for ACOT’s Guest Designer Challenge “White Space”! The GD wants us to either concentrate on the top half or bottom half only.

The layout is also for my Fashion Challenge that I host at ACOT. For March, sheer, thin fabric (think spaghetti strapped slinky dresses or silk camisoles) is what’s in fashion. So basically we’re starting to show some skin! I’m having scrappers use a neutral background (white, cream, black, brown, or tan); along with something that would be consider almost see- through. You can use transparency, vellum, a sheer washi or ribbon. AND…if you use ribbon or washi or borders on your project, make them skinny (to represent spaghetti straps)!

Here’s a close up:

The pattern paper strips are by Reminisce, and the transparency and the dog bone paper clip is by Creative Imaginations. The “Love is a four-legged Word” is by Bo Bunny.

Layout: My Sweet Penny

Its the first of the month and that means a NEW Fashion Challenge over at ACOT! Trending in December is pairing spring-like florals with black. In the scrappy world, that translates to a black background with any floral print – pattern paper, washi tape, ribbon, etc. So here is my layout, featuring my sweetie Penny.

My Sweet Penny

I used Webster’s Pages pattern paper and ribbon and alphas and twine. Washi tapes by Queen & Co and Love My Tapes. Mist is by Studio Calico.

I also used Sketchabilities newest sketch – #104

Make sure you check out the December Challenges that the gals at ACOT are hosting!

And thanks for looking! 🙂

Layout: Man’s Best Friend

Its November 1st and that means NEW Challenges over at A Cherry on Top!

For my Fashion Challenge, you will have to tear/rip your paper (for the Fashion Trend – Ripped Jeans) .

In this layout of Bear and Jeffrey, I have tore the paper that separates the two larger pieces, along with the corner piece.

Mans' Best Friend

And I’ve combined it with the Becky Fleck Sketch #54 Challenge that ACOT is hosting as well.

265511-490

I didn’t truly follow the sketch like I usually do. But with the large die cut title, the banner wouldn’t have worked how the sketch has it. So up at the top it goes!

TFL! And hope you can join us in all the fun at ACOT!
