Playtime

Good morning everyone! Today I’m sharing with you a layout I did last night, featuring Miss Penny playing with her P.I.C. (Partner in Crime), back in 2013:

Playtime

The inspiration for these summertime playful photos is from ACOT’s Cherryland Challenge.Β  We could do “quiet” summertime photos or “active” summertime photos; either at night or during the day. I chose to do “active” photos, about an hr before sundown. I added a “sun” with stencil and Shimmerz “Gold Mine” texturez paste.

The design is based on Let’s Get Sketchy‘s newest weekly sketch:

LGS Week 3 July

I stayed true to the basic design, with added the title to the bottom of the page, losing the banner strips andΒ  making my photos smaller.

I used Basic Grey “Vivienne” papers, stickers and embellishments.

Happy!

Good afternoon everyone! Today I have a new layout featuring a watercolor background and “slicing” a photo.

Happy (2)

The “slicing” of the photo was inspired by ACOT’s “What’s on TV?” Challenge. Joannie chose “Life in Pieces”, which in turn, made the challenge to have at least one photo that is in at least 3 pieces. I really love how it turned out, as you have to have the PERFECT photo for this particular technique.

The design is based on Let’s Get Sketchy Week 2 sketch:

LGS Week 2 July

I really love all the white space, and usually I leave it “as is”, but decided to break into my gelatos to create a watercolor background. I had originally went with yellows and oranges, but mixed with the pink..it just didn’t look right. So I went with a pink gelato in Watermelon and it turned out a whole lot better IMO! πŸ˜‰

All the products that aren’t mixed media – brads, washi, chipboard, pattern papers, stickers – are Basic Grey “Highline” collection.

Peek-a-boo!

I see you! LOL! This next layout features pics from BearΒ  3 yrs ago, sniffing in the ground/dirt.

Peek a Boo

My design comes from Let’s Get Sketchy Week 1 sketch:

I basically stuck to the design, swapping out the upside down tag with banners. The large yellow frame is made from washi tape, inspired by MMC #2 Challenge at A Cherry On Top.

The papers/stickers are from Studio Calico; bling is Bo Bunny; and chipboard is Cloud 9 Design – all of these products are from my July Use It or Lose It Challenge.

The watercolors are Shimmerz Inklingz/Creameez.

Dog Days

Good afternoon everyone! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was pretty good, very eventful to say the least.

Today’s layout is based on Let’s Get Sketchy’s Week 3 Sketch:

LGS Week 3 June

I just LOVE all the layers! And here’s what I did with it:

Dog Days

I just got my hands on the NEW Doodlebug “Puppy Love” collection! And I bought EVERYTHING that goes with it! I just love how bright and happy the papers are. The die cuts are the CUTEST ever! And just check out the washi tape! Love, love, love!

So Fresh

Good afternoon everyone! Here’s a quick layout based on Let’s Get Sketchy Week 2 for June:

So Fresh

I used all Basic Grey “Highline” Collection for this layout. Its a pic of me and my scrappy friends 5 yrs ago at the Water Gardens. Our friend Misty took all the photos for the photo shoot.

Here’s the sketch:

I love all the layers with the single photo. I stuck to the sketch pretty well.

PetCo – where the pets go!

Good afternoon on this very hot Summer day! Perfect day to stay inside and scrap!

This next layout is based on Let’s Get Sketchy’s June Week 2 sketch:

LGS Week 2 June

And here is what I came up with:

PetCo where the pets go

Photo was taken about a year ago, when I took Ruby and Bear for their yearly checkup. After a vet visit, the pups go to PetCo to pick out a treat (or two). I used the receipt as a layering piece to fulfill the MMC #3 challenge over at ACOT. I had chosen craft supplies, memorabilia, and recipes. We also had to add one item that we kind of “hoard”. I’m not much of a hoarder, but I am guilty of buying my dogs brand new toys almost every time we go to a Pet’s store. So I had incorporate dog toys in my layout some how, along with glimmer mist (to represent the craft supplies); memorabilia (to represent the memorabilia, of course) and a sketch (for the recipes). Dog toys don’t fit on any other kind of page EXCEPT a dog page. And memorabilia…it had me thinking. So that is why I included the receipt, goes extremely well with the photo!

So I fussy cut a few toys from pattern paper, along with stickers and rub-ons of tennis balls, frisbee and rope toys! Alphas are from SEI and My Little Shoebox.

I also managed to use a portion of the dog biscuit paper from last month’s Use it or Lose It Challenge, which was given a second chance for this month’s Use it Or Lose it Challenge!

You & Me

I just got some new stencils from Crafter’s Workshop and a watercolor brush from Zig. Been playing with both this weekend and I just love how fun they are.

This next layout is for the ACOT Guest Designer Challenge #1 – Splatter Away! We are to use at least 2 inks/mists to splatter on a white background. Here is what I came up with:

You & Me

I used gelatos and watered them down to do the splatters and the stencil work. I chose the colors by using the triangle washi tape for inspiration, pulling in the orange, yellow and turquoise. Really love the colors together.

I tried a new technique this weekend too – using tangled thread to put underneath flair buttons. I’ve been seeing lots of people do that and I’ve been wanting to try it, just never really felt the need to. Until now. And I LOVE the LOOK of it too! Will definetly do it again!

I’m also submitting this layout to ACOT’s Title Challenge. We must use the title “You & Me” and at least one heart. Since I was using flair buttons already, I came across the & flair and thought it would be perfect to use for the title. Since the ampersand was so large, I went with turquoise small alphas from Basic Grey to finish off the title.

I also used embellishments from CTMH. Those are the flair buttons, the veneers (arrow, butterfly and heart) and the puffy stickers. The turquoise in the set was perfect little accents! And if you remember, those CTMH puffies are from my April Use It or Lose It Challenge.

The design for this layout is based on a sketch from Let’s Get Sketchy – April, Week 2.

Team B Week 1

I really love the design of this – the border on the left, the rings and the single photo.

Photo Bomb

Miss Penny Lane is FAMOUS for photo bombing others, whether it be Jeffrey, Ruby and Bear, or people. ACOT’s Title Challenge is about exactly that! Title must be “Photo Bomb” and we had to incorporate a camera element.

Photo Bomb

I used some super old camera pattern paper from Provo Craft and stamped a camera onto white cardstock, fussy cutting it and adhering it using pop dots.

DSCN6450

My title is some old Basic Grey chipboard alphas. They were actually a pale blue, and I used some new Bo Bunny glitter paste in Licorice to color them.

DSCN6451

I added this star die cut using my Cricut machine.

The layout is based on the following Let’s Get Sketchy sketch:

946086_819276671514099_8079541960731374475_n

I loved the overall design of the sketch, swapping out the two small pics for one.

And speaking of “photo bombing”, guess who decided “bomb” my picture taking of this layout?

DSCN6452

LOL! If you guessed Miss Penny, you were right! What a silly girl!

Spookytown Cemetary

I’m way behind on Halloween layouts. Like 6 years behind. LOL. So here is graveyard cake I made for a friend’s Halloween Party back in 2010, using the latest sketch from Let’s Get Sketchy:

Spookytown Cemetary

Team A Week 1

I rotated the sketch, and used wide washi tape for the diagnol pieces. I just used layers and lots of little stickers from Echo Park’s “Chillingsworth Manor” to embellish my layout.

DSCN6353

I used some spackling paste and a Studio Calico stencil to make the little dots.
