My Boy

This next layout features my sweet boy, Mr Jeffrey! Just look at this face:

My Boy

The design of this layout is based on Let’s Get Sketchy Sketch, Week 2, March:

LGS

I was going to use triangles, but I saw all these word bubbles and thought I’d repeat that shape instead.

This layout is also based on 2 ACOT challenges. The first one is the Spelling Challenge. We are supposed to spell out the word SHAMROCK. Here is what I used:

S = sketch by Let’s Get Sketchy
H = Heidi Swapp “Hello”
A = Alphas (Bella Blvd)
M = MAMBI washi tag stickers
R = red ink
O = October Afternoon die cuts
C = cloud pattern paper
K = KaiserCraft Paw print stamp

The second one is for the Disney Challenge. Melissa is allowing non-Disney submissions and this month, its based on a color scheme. She gave us several choices, but I went with the golden yellow, light blue, red, and neutrals for my color scheme.

Love

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful time with their Family and Friends this past Christmas weekend!

Today, I want to share with you a mixed media layout, featuring Miss Penny chewing on a bone. I used some new Heidi Swapp chipboard pieces I had gotten thru an envie earlier this month, as well as using my new heat tool to dry the gesso, gelatos, and mist quicker (thanks to my BFF for my Hobby Lobby GC!)

Love (5)

I used clear gesso to prime the paper. Still kind of warped, since I used Reminisce pattern papers (a little thinner than most). I used various stickers from Heidi Swapp, MAMBI, and Teresa Collins. Washi tape is by Little B. Title is from Anna Griffin

I used Let’s Get Sketchy December Week 3 sketch. I just loved the single photo and the splatterings.

I’m also submitting this layout for ACOT’s Spelling Challenge. I could spell out CHRISTMAS or HOLIDAYS. I chose CHRISTMAS:
C = clear gesso
H = Heidi Swapp Chipboard pieces
R = Reminisce pattern papers
I = ink (pink)
S = Spearmint gelato
T = Tattered Angels mist (yellow)
M = MAMBI chipboard piece
A = Anna Griffin word title
S = stickers (Wonderful, Love This by Teresa Collins)

The road to my heart….

This next layout has been in the making for the past month or so. This particular doggie embellishment from Anna Griffin was perfect for March/April’s Graphic Design Challenge, but I ran out of time with being so busy unpacking and working and settling into our new home. The challenge was to use something on your layout (in the photo(s), or an embellishment/element, etc) that is in a color that normally that item wouldn’t be. But luckily, Kim hostesses a Rewind Challenge, allowing us to go back to the previous month and do a challenge that we were wanting to do.

The road to my heart

Here’s a closer look at that dog embellie:

LOL! Dogs aren’t pink with pink polka dots!

The design for this layout came from Sketches in Thyme Sketch #148

may 15

I had alot of fun with this sketch – the splatters, the large pennats, the washi. Its a great sketch!

My products used are as follows:
Pattern Paper, title, sticker: Anna Griffin
pink washi tape: Love My tapes
Love you heart, star, word bubble, heart arrow: MAMBI
White mist: Studio Calico
twine: The Twinery
Camera washi tape: The Paper Studio
tag, pearls: from stash

Layout: Express Yourself

I love music and my taste ranges from country (mostly!) to pop, into R&B, oldies and some rap (old school). When I am stuck on a title, I usually turn to music for inspiration. Sometimes its a title, sometimes its a lyric, or the whole song. For this month’s Music Challenge at ACOT, the hostess had us choose a song by a diva and use that to inspire our next project.

I am a HUGE Madonna fan, and originally, as I was going thru her music, I had, like, 12 songs picked out! LOL! But I finally narrowed the list down to four, and then looked at some pictures to see what I was leaning towards. I ended up with a group photo of my scrappy friends taken back in August 2010. We were getting ready for bed, and since it was like 4am – we ended up being SILLY too!

The song I chose was “Express Yourself”, and the title was just PERFECT for the photo!

Express Yourself

The design for this layout is inspired by a sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap. Its their “Inspired by…” #9:

inspired by #9

I had alot of fun with all those little sqares and since this was such a FUN layout, I went with FUN embellies by MAMBI:

My title was cut using my Cricut and Cricut cartridge “Opposites Attract”:

All pattern paper is Basic Grey “Paper Cottage”. The circles are punched out with a circle punch, and the pattern was already like that on the paper (don’t you love it when that happens?)

Layout: Best of Friends

Let’s Get Sketchy’s latest sketch offers so many possibilities, I know it’s going to be one of my faves! 😉

Sketchweek2aug.jpg

And here is my layout – I pretty much stuck to the sketch:

Best of Friends (2)

The pattern paper on top is by Karen Foster, and I used some it to fussy-cut the tags out, making my own banner:

DSCN4832

The background paper is by Paper House Productions and I love the heart and paw print that it let me put the date and the names of my furbabies on the page, without causing awkwardness or making it bulky:

DSCN4833

The photo is of my four doggies in November 2012, just shortly after we got Penny. Just look at how little she was! Time sure does fly!

And the title – “Best of Friends” – was inspired by the Disney Challenge over at ACOT. We had to use a Disney song as our title, or use the lyrics on our project. The title is from a song in the movie “Fox & The Hound”.

The paw prints are by MAMBI and the small alphas are Cosmo Cricket.
