Sleep tight, sweet little Jackson

Good evening everyone! Its been raining off and on all day, so what’s a girl to do? Stay inside and scrap! And this layout uses the newest sketch from Let’s Get Sketchy:

lgs-3-1

I LOVED the design on this one. I used washi tapes for the diagnol part, and Tattered Angels mist and Shimmerz watercolors for the mixed media part.

I used Doodlebug “Kitten Smitten” collection – papers, die cuts, washi tapes and stickers.

The alphas are a quite the mixture. I used Cosmo Cricket (yellow alphas), My Little Shoebox (pink alphas), Basic Grey (grey alphas) and Amy Tangerine (black thickers). I chose a long title for this layout to be used for ACOT’s Use Your Stash Challenge, which was to use 2 or more different alphas, and to dig deep in your stash.

Here We Go!

Good morning everyone! Today I’m sharing with you a fabulous sketch by Mandy over at Sketch N Scrap:

december-15th-layout

And here is my take on it:

here-we-go

I used Bella Blvd “Just Add Color” collection – everything from the paper to the stickers and alphas. The solid grey piece is cardstock from my stash. I am still working on our girls’ photo shoot from October 2011! When I came across this photo….I was inspired to SLICE it.

The mixed media products I used was Tattered Angels (Twinkle Yellow) and Shimmerz (Jeni B Bleu and Paradise Punch). The bling is Bazzill.

The BB collection is from my Use It or Lose It challenge this month. I’m making quite the dent in it. πŸ™‚

Make sure you stop by the Sketch N Scrap blog to take a look at the other DT’s creations. Hope you can play along.

Squirrely Day

Hey ya’ll! I’m back with my first layout from this weekend. I usually get 2 layouts done the first night during Scrap Weekend, but this time…barely got one done. But it worked out as I got FIVE more done on Sunday!

Anyways, this first layout is based on Let’s Get Sketchy Sketch from Week 2 of this month.

Week 2

I love the simple one photo design, with the borders. I also wanted to do a sun burst of sorts and grabbed my Crafter’s Workshop stencil and Shimmerz Texturez in Gold Mine to create the sunburst.

Squirrely Day

I love how the gold looks on the darker papers – which by the way, are from Bo Bunny’s “Mamma-razzi” collection. The stickers/alphas are also from that collection, which I had originally posted for my August Use It or Lose It Challenge.

This photo is one of my faves of Miss Penny. You all know how she is “all about Squirrely”. Well, before we moved to our new house last year, she was accustomed to having a very large front AND back yard with no fence in between. So she could roam around when ever where ever. Our new home, though, has the back yard fenced, and that’s it! Its great for us. Not-so-great for Miss Penny. Within a week, Penny realized that Squirrely could get away from her much more easily. And I caught her pouting. What is she thinking? Is she mad? LOL. She sure does look like she would be!

This layout is also for ACOT’s Supply List Challenge. Out of 10 items, we had to use at least 5. Mine are:

Enamel dots and/or brads (2 black enamel dots)
2 or more patterned papers (used about 5)
Sunshine (can be in the photo, paper, whatever) (used a sun burst stencil)
twine/ribbon (twine around my photo)
something from your stash that is either from a discontinued manufacturer or at least 2 years old (Bo Bunny Mamma-razi collection. It came out in 2011)

Playtime

Good morning everyone! Today I’m sharing with you a layout I did last night, featuring Miss Penny playing with her P.I.C. (Partner in Crime), back in 2013:

Playtime

The inspiration for these summertime playful photos is from ACOT’s Cherryland Challenge.Β  We could do “quiet” summertime photos or “active” summertime photos; either at night or during the day. I chose to do “active” photos, about an hr before sundown. I added a “sun” with stencil and Shimmerz “Gold Mine” texturez paste.

The design is based on Let’s Get Sketchy‘s newest weekly sketch:

LGS Week 3 July

I stayed true to the basic design, with added the title to the bottom of the page, losing the banner strips andΒ  making my photos smaller.

I used Basic Grey “Vivienne” papers, stickers and embellishments.

Peek-a-boo!

I see you! LOL! This next layout features pics from BearΒ  3 yrs ago, sniffing in the ground/dirt.

Peek a Boo

My design comes from Let’s Get Sketchy Week 1 sketch:

I basically stuck to the design, swapping out the upside down tag with banners. The large yellow frame is made from washi tape, inspired by MMC #2 Challenge at A Cherry On Top.

The papers/stickers are from Studio Calico; bling is Bo Bunny; and chipboard is Cloud 9 Design – all of these products are from my July Use It or Lose It Challenge.

The watercolors are Shimmerz Inklingz/Creameez.

Best Friends

Good morning everyone! I’m up on the Sketches in Thyme Blog today, showcasing a sketch designed by Brenshevia:

Team 2

I fell in love with this sketch the moment I saw it. I just love the splatters, and all the layers and ring.Β  I wanted to do mixed media, but the papers/photos I chose, I didn’t want to over do it. So I chose Shimmerz Creameez in “Ride the Tide” and Inklingz in “Me & Blue” to make a subtle, watercolor background. From there, I used my brand new papers from Doodlebug’s “Puppy Love” collection. OMGosh I LOVE this collection so much! I love the bright, happy colors and the embellies are just too cute!

Best Friends

I mean, just look at that cute doggie die cut! And the cute stickers and papers. Even my pictures are cute – HA! They are of Jeffrey and Little Bit, from last April. I just love when I catch the doggies doing something natural as “watching”.

I finished off the layout with a few enamel dots here and there and popped up the die cuts – title, heart, doggie and “So Happy Together” banner.

Life is Good

Good morning everyone! Today is my turn to showcase a wonderful sketch by the very talented Janessa Franco on the Sketches in Thyme blog. Just look at all the layers!

Team 2

I was planning on using doilies when I first saw this sketch. But the colors/papers I pulled for my photos, doilies were just not gonna work. I almost went with cut files, but I just got my hands on some Shimmerz Texturez in “Gold Mine” and OMG…its my new fave! LOL. And the stencil I chose was a mini sunburst! I love this stuff!

And here is my final layout:

Life is Good

Ruby and Jeffrey hanging out under the Oak Tree in the backyard last summer. The papers and stickers are all Studio Calico “Sundrifter”, which is from my June 2016 Use it Or Lose It challenge.

That “My favorite place” journal card is from a really old K & Company pack. I stumbled upon that card and thought it’d make a great layering piece. πŸ˜‰

The enamel dots/shapes are from October Afternoon.

Good afternoon ya’ll! Over NSD, I ordered myself some new mixed media products. I’ve discovered “Shimmerz”, which sells tons of mists, textured pastes, watercolors, and more! I haven’t had a chance to play around with them until this weekend.

I decided to try out the “Texturez”, which is a textured, gritty, shimmery paste. I really love the texture it gives:

Pictures do not do it justice!! I then paired the page with a cute photo of my cousin and I, and some Basic Grey “Vivienne” papers/stickers, and here is what I came up with:

Friends

I chose this particular photo for ACOT’s “What’s on TV?” Challenge. This month, Joannie selected the tv shows The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. So for the challenge, our photo(s) had to include at least ONE single person, over the age of 18.

The design is based on this week’s Let’s Get Sketchy Sketch:
