Sketch N Scrap – Flashback Friday #1

Good morning everyone! Sketch N Scrap turns 4 years old this month! And to help celebrate, we are going back in time to 2012. Each Friday this month, we are going back and doing a sketch from 2012.

To kick start us, Lisa Hidy selected the very first sketch!

May 6th - Hosted by Lisa

Awesome design, huh? So, here is my take on it:

May 6th Layout

I chose to scrap a few pics of the pups enjoying the kiddie pool for the first time in the new house (March 2015). I used Bazzill cardstock as my background, with Simple Stories “I {heart} Summer” papers, brads and stickers. I fussy cut those cute little fishes and hearts from pattern paper.

Please join us over at Sketch N Scrap to celebrate our 4th Birthday!

Live, Laugh, Play!

The temps are heating up and one of the NSD hostesses over at ACOT is having a “Warming Up” Challenge. And here is what I came up with:

Live Laugh Play!

Pics of sweet Bear, playing and splashing in her pink pool from about 3 yrs ago. I’ve been hoarding the Simple Stories “I {heart} Summer” collection! Other than the sequins (MME, Fancy That Collection – from my original May Use It or Lose It Challenge), and the arrows (Studio Calico), everything else is SS.

Here is a close up of the sprinkles:

The design is based on Let’s Get Sketchy May, Week One Sketch.

LGS May Week One

I almost stayed true to the sketch, losing the banner on the right side, moving the border to the left side and not tilting my photos.

Sketch-N-Scrap Oct 5th Card

Good afternoon everyone!

Sketch-N-Scrap‘s 1st card sketch for October is amazing!! Check it out!

October 5th Card

When I saw this sketch, first thing I thought, Project Life cards! Every company makes them in their own way too. Some of the collection packs you get nowadays have a full sheet (or sometimes 2) of the cards that you cut out, or use the 12X12 sheet of paper as is.

And that is what I did!

Oct 5th Card

I used the Simple Stories “I {heart} Summer” cut apart cards. I loved the little heart on the anchor, so I fussy cut the large and small heart that is on the black card to go with the theme. I then used the yellow boardwalk paper to make the color of the anchor pop!

Hope you can join us at Sketch-N-Scrap!
