Sketches in Thyme Sketch #193

Good morning everyone! Today is my turn to showcase the newest SIT sketch, created by the very talented Sara Mishler!

Team 2

Just check out all those rings! And layers! You could totally use stamping, mixed media, die cuts, doilies, the possibilities are endless!

And here is my take on it:

Brandy - April 9th

I chose Simple Stories “I {heart} Summer” collection for this sweet photo of Bella and Max, just “sittin’ on a porch swing”! This collection is one of my absolute faves, and so I’ve got lots of little bits and pieces. Those scraps came in handy as I was able to make different size/width rings and even through in a circle!

I fussy cut the tag out of pattern paper, and same with that heart. Then I just used little stickers and that puffy arrow is from CTMH, which I pulled for my April Use It Or Lose It Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you check out Sketches in Thyme! Hope you can join us this month!

My Big Girls using NAS Sketch #336

Ruby and Bear have always been coined the “big girls” due to their size, and also because they are litter mates. They are always together. With these two gorgeous photos of them taken in November 2012, I thought they’d be perfect paired with all the fun Simple Stories SN@P! dog collection. The 3X3 cards and 4X6 cards worked out really really well with Nuts About Sketches latest sketch, #336:

336 - Due 9-21-14 copy

336 - Brandy

As you can tell, I kept true to the sketch in placement of papers/photos, but only used two 4X6 photos – subsituting 2 of the 4X6’s for journaling cards in the same size, and not using any photos for all the 3X3’s.

I cut my large title with my Cricut, using “Opposites Attract”. The paw print brads are from Eyelet Outlet and the paw print pattern paper is from The Paper Studio.

All Wrapped Up using NAS Sketch #325

I had so much fun with Nuts About Sketches sketch #325 as it is so versatile and allows the scrapper to go any which way!

First, here is the awesome sketch. Usually I post my layout first, but you guys have got to see the sketch I got to work with!

325 - Due 7-6-14

This sketch is all about the hexagons. Its quite trendy right now, but unfortunetly, I don’t have hexagon template or die cut or punch. So…with that said, I went with circles!

325 - Brandy

This little guy is named Little Bit, and he belongs to my mother. He is “her baby” and just LOVES being wrapped up in this baby blanket. Here are some close-ups:

The papers are all Bo Bunny, including the small chipboard stars. The die cuts and stickers are by Simple Stories and the alphas are Webster’s Pages.

Layout: Summer —> This Way!

When Let’s Get Sketchy posted their June Sketch – Week 1, I KNEW I had to use it almost immediately. It inspired me to scrap some of these doggies pics.

Summer, this way

The pictures are of my aunt’s dog, Booger, and Rascal. Booger is the little Jack Russel and he jumped in the small wading pool while she filled it up for the kids. Rascal is the larger dog, who just wanted to get a drink of water.

Here’s the amazing sketch:

All papers and stickers are Simple Stories. The camera paper clip is by Prima, and the cork arrows are from Fancy Pants. The ribbon and sequins are from my stash.

Just Grillin’ and Nuts About Sketches #315

I really loved working with the new sketch by Shawn over at Nust About Sketches. It has so many possibilities for the scrapper to make it their own.

Here is my layout, featuring photos of my hubby standing proudly and ultimately making his first meal using a new gas grill he had gotten for Christmas.

And here is the awesome sketch:

Due 4-28-14

As you can see, I didn’t use one large photo, but instead, used 4 4X6, and staggering them a bit to make it more appealing.

My papers are by Simple Stories, brads and SewEasy by WRMKs and the stickers are from my stash.

TFL! 🙂
