Sketch-N-Scrap Twistback Thursday!

Good afternoon everyone! December’s Twistback Thursday sketch at Sketch-n-Scrap is brought to you by Lisa Hidy, Sketch #56. I remember this sketch very well. It was one of the sketches I did as a Guest Designer for Sketch-N-Scrap back in May 2014. Its a very versatile sketch.

Throwback Thursday December 10th

The TWIST for this one is to use b/w photos only. I sometimes forget to use b/w photos, especially when the papers clash with the pics, but I do truly love the result.

For this reveal, I chose pics of my sweet Penny Lane. She’s about a year old in these photos. Just look at that sweet little face! LOVE her so much!

All of my products – and I mean ALL – are Echo Park’s “Bark” Collection! This is the year of the doggies in the scrapbooking world. I can’t seem to keep up with all the new papers/embellies! ❤

Make sure you stop by Sketch-N-Scrap and check out this sketch, along with the others this month!

Sketch-n-Scrap Reveal #93

Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you a wonderful sketch by the talented Kelly Holifield! Its set up for 2 photos and lots of fun little hexagons!

November 15th Sketch

I had so many ideas in my head when I saw this sketch. Then..it hit me. I have a 12×12 stencil with 5 different sizes of hexagons. I’m tinkering around with Mixed Media lately and wanted to add texture to my layouts. But sometimes I forget…or I don’t want to mess up. Which is my biggest worry. LOL. But I know that practice makes perfect and its okay to get messy. So here is what I came up with:

Brandy - Nov 15th Layout

The background paper already has texture – its like crushed velvet. But I thought using spackling paste (from Home Depot), would jazz it up a bit! I colored the 3 smaller ones in the upper left corner with a mixture of black gelato and water. But I left the others white as to “pop” off the paper!

The flowers are by Prima and I thought the sequins added a pretty touch too.

And lets not forget about the journaling card.

Funny story, that journaling card. So I hosted our last crop of 2015 Oct 17th/18th, so my girls were with me as I was working on it. I was almost done, but was at a lost at where I should add the journal card. First I wanted to place it to the right of the large photo. Nah…how about to the left of the smaller photo…mmm…Hhhhmm..not sure. So I asked my friend Amanda. She was like, “Well, yeah..you could..but…how about this?” and she mentioned placing it over the left corner of where the hexagons were, but with a tilt. I was like…”ooooOOOOO…” I then showed Misty and Laura and yep, they loved the idea too! I was going to place it there, but then it looked plain. So I wrapped some twine around it and tied a small bow and wholla! Perfection! Sometimes a second set of eyes (or 3 or 4) is what you need to polish off a layout! That’s what scrappy friends are for! 🙂

Please make sure to stop by the Sketch N Scrap blog to check out the rest of the fabulous layouts by the design team! Hope you play along!

Sketch-N-Scrap Layout #85

Sketch-N-Scrap has an awesome sketch today! Check it out!

Sketch July 15th

And here is my take on it:

Brandy Layout July 15th

These pics are of Miss Penny at age 6 months. She apparently was giving me “attitude” with taking her pics. LOL! Here are some close ups:

I used Fancy Pants “Collecting Moments”  collection. The background paper is Basic Grey, and the corrugated banner strip is The Paper Studio.
