Sketch N Scrap – Flashback Friday #1

Good morning everyone! Sketch N Scrap turns 4 years old this month! And to help celebrate, we are going back in time to 2012. Each Friday this month, we are going back and doing a sketch from 2012.

To kick start us, Lisa Hidy selected the very first sketch!

May 6th - Hosted by Lisa

Awesome design, huh? So, here is my take on it:

May 6th Layout

I chose to scrap a few pics of the pups enjoying the kiddie pool for the first time in the new house (March 2015). I used Bazzill cardstock as my background, with Simple Stories “I {heart} Summer” papers, brads and stickers. I fussy cut those cute little fishes and hearts from pattern paper.

Please join us over at Sketch N Scrap to celebrate our 4th Birthday!

TFL! 🙂

Sweet Boy

Good morning everyone! Sketch N Scrap’s newest sketch is brought to you by the very talented Mandy Reedyk:

April 15th

Lots of possiblities for this one! And here is my version of it:

April 15th Layout

I chose sweet pics of my boy, Mr Jeffrey. Just can’t resist those cute ears!

All of those little bits and pieces are from a Kraft sheet of elements from Canvas Corp. Perfect for fussy-cutting!

DSCN6467

I used a scrap piece of Kraft cardstock to cut my title using my Cricut and the CCR. The red pattern paper is by Queen & Co, same as the photo mats.

That Kraft Canvas Corp paper is from my Use It or Lose It Challenge for this month. I made quite the dent out it!

Hope you can stop by and play along with us over at Sketch N Scrap!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Sketch N Scrap Throwback Thursday #4

Good morning everyone and welcome back to another Throwback Thursday with Sketch N Scrap! Today Katty is hosting sketch #63 by Kelly Holifield:

March 24th - Katty as Hostess

And here is my take on it:

March 24th Layout

I chose to use one photo, and substitute the 3rd photo spot for a PL card.

My papers are from Webster’s Pages, enamel dots and cork embellies are Freckled Fawn.

Make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap blog and check out the rest of the DT’s fabulous layouts. Hope you can play along with us, and as always, TFL! 🙂

Sketch N Scrap Throwback Thursday #3

Good morning everyone! Today, DT member Karen is hosting Throwback Thursday on Sketch N Scrap blog today. She chose sketch #54 by Lisa Hidy

March 17th - Karen as Hostess

I believe this sketch is from a couple of years ago, as I totally remember playing along.

And here is my take on the sketch now:

March 17th Layout

I’m almost done with my sister in law’s beautiful bridal photos from 5 yrs ago, and used mostly MME “Fancy That” collection.

TFL and make sure you check us out at Sketch N Scrap for more inspiration from the DT. Hope you can play along!

Sketch N Scrap Throwback Thursday #2

Good morning everyone! Leah is hosting Throwback Thursday this week and she chose sketch #52 from Lisa Hidy:

March 10th - Leah as Hostess

I was originally going to do all pattern paper, but it just got too busy, so I went with pattern paper strips behind my photo and used a border sticker to separate the two halves:

March 10th Layout

The papers are Basic Grey “Persimmon” collection and all the enamel dots are from Doodlebug.

Make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the inspiration from the DT. And as always TFL! 🙂

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #69

Good morning everyone! The first card sketch for March was designed by the very talented Kelly Holifield!

March 5th Card

Lots of possibilities with this one. And here is my take on it:

March 5th card by Brandy

I used the large sentiment sticker from Bo Bunny’s “Welcome Home” (from my March Use It or Lose It challenge).

I orignally wanted to use some glittered heart rub-ons from Cloud 9 Design (also from March Use It or Lose It Challenge), but they would not rub off. AT ALL. So I guess rub-ons DO EXPIRE! They have got to be at least 8 or 9 years old!

So instead, I used veneer hearts from Studio Calico. The doily is from Doodlebug.

As always, TFL and make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap!

Sketch N Scrap Throwback Thursday #1

Good morning everyone! Sketch N Scrap has something very fun for you all this month. Each Thursday for the month of March, we will be doing a Throwback Thursday. There are five hostesses, and each one chose a sketch from Sketch N Scrap‘s amazing archive.

Today, Lori has selected Sketch #17 by Lisa Hidy:

March 3rd - Lori as Hostess

I loved the sketch so much, I knew I wouldn’t change a thing! So here’s my take on it:

March 3rd Layout

The photo is of my sister in law during her Bridal Photo Shoot in September 2010. All of my papers are by Pebbles and die cuts are from MME “Fancy That”. The small strips of washi tape is from The Paper Studio.

Make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap all month long to check out all the fun sketches! Hope you can play along and as always, TFL! 🙂

Fur-Ever Friends

Good morning all! Today I’m sharing with you Sketch N Scrap sketch #99 by the very talented Mandy Reedyk:

Feb 15th

I decided to flip my sketch upside down, use a very large die cut title instead of a circle, and use one photo instead of two:

Brandy - Feb 15th Layout

The picture was taken May 2013, and its of my sweet Penny playing chase with her two new friends – Princess and Trouble! They belong to my BFF and she lived with me and my husband for a few months in 2013.

Those die cuts are from Imaginesce (using them from my Use It or Lose It Challenge for this month). The green chevron paper, washi tape and paper clip are from Queen & Co. The blue cardstock is from Bazzill. The green glittered paw prints are from Paper House Productions. The paw print paper is from The Paper Studio.

TFL and as always, make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap and play along!

Such a Pretty Girl

Good morning everyone! Another fabulous sketch by Kelly is up on the Sketch N Scrap blog!

Jan 15th Layout

I was debating on whether I was going to use a 4X6 photo and flip the sketch, or juse it as is. I made my decision when I came across this cute photo of Miss Penny Lane 2 years ago:

Jan 15th Layout by Brandy

I used alot of Authentique “Devoted” Line, fussy-cutting that floral cluster and adding enamel dots to the center. The bottom has one small strip of that doggie washi tape I’m challenging myself to use.

TFL and hope you can join us over at Sketch N Scrap!

Twistback Thursday with Sketch n Scrap

Hello all! Today is the 2nd Thursday of October and that means TWISTBACK! We are using sketch #45 by Kelly Holifield and we must use a FALL theme. Now, with me living in south Texas, we really don’t have a “fall” per-say, but my family is all about spending time with each other on Thanksgiving. And luckily, last Thanksgiving, was a bit on the chilly side, so we built a fire. And of course, took pictures. 🙂

Oct 8th Layout

I chose to use the BRAND NEW company PhotoPlay’s “Autumn Day” collection. Usually I don’t buy brand new stuff from brand new companies, but I just love this collection! Just look at those colors. And those papers. I added mist from Tattered Angels and Inkadinkao, along with enamel dots from Freckled Fawn and Doodlebug.

And here’s the sketch:

October 8th Sketch

As you can see, I opted to use one less photo. I had more photos, but they really didn’t look right with the other three. I still think the layout works.

Make sure you stop by at Sketch-N-Scrap to join in on the fun!

TFL! 🙂
