Early Morning Quiet Time

Good morning everyone! Today I’m sharing with you an amazing sketch by Sara for Sketches in Thyme.

And here is my take on it:

I stayed true to the sketch, and sprinkled a few sequins here and there with drops of black mist. The washi tapes are from Queen & Co and The paper Studio, with the flowers from Prima and gold gems are CTMH. The paw print stickers are from Sticko, the mini alphas are Authentique. The chipboard alphas are from colorbok, which I jazzed up by adding a gold gelato from Faber-Castell then topping it with gold glitter paste from Bo Bunny. The camera clip is also from The Paper Studio.

The photo is of my sweet little babies – Jasmine and Shelby – enjoying some early morning quiet time with toys and bones on a big dog bed. They used to get up around 4:30 to 5am every morning, and after going outside to potty, they’d come back in and chew on toys. It was soooo cute!

This layout is extra special as it will be my last one being posted as a Design Team member at Sketches in Thyme. I have really enjoyed being on the DT and will miss my teammates!

Devotion

Good morning everyone! Today I’m sharing with you the latest sketch for Sketches in Thyme. Its a fun one!

And here is my take on it

I pretty much stayed true to the sketch, but kept my photos larger and moved one of them where the title is. I used an old pet stack from DCWV and fussy cut the hearts, flowers and hydrant. The doily is from Recollections. Pictures are of me and Ruby Mae taking some selfies together, June 2015.

Make sure you stop by the Sketches in Thyme blog and check out the sketches we have going on this month as well as the daily posts from DT.

As always, thanks for looking!

Best Friends

Good morning everyone! Today I have the newest Sketches in Thyme sketch to share with you!

October 9th

And here is my take on it:

Best Friends

I stayed pretty true with it, except I moved the title and removed the banner and instead used some bubble stickers. Papers/stickers/die cuts are Heidi Swapp; doily by Doodlebug; flower by Bo Bunny; veneer leaves by Freckled Fawn; meow pin by My Mind’s Eye and the alphas are from my stash.

DSCN7315

This photo is really dear to me. Jackson was only a kitten, and he would just snuggle up close to Ruby Mae, which by now, had been diagnosed with bone cancer. She would only be here for another 3 weeks before we would have to say goodbye. I really cherish this photo.

This layout is also my example for the October Pet Challenge over at ACOT. Yes, you heard right — my example! I’m hosting it for a while, helping out the usual hostess and the prompt this month is Friendship! As you can see, Jackson and Ruby Mae fit the prompt quite well!

Hop over to the Sketches in Thyme blog and play along with not only this week’s sketch but the others ones as well for the month of October!

For Generations To Come

Hello everyone! I have a new sketch to share with you from the very talented Bev Code, for Sketches in Thyme:

As I was going thru a few of my folders of pictures, I discovered 3 that I thought worked VERY WELL with the sketch. My mother in law gave me tons of photos of HER grandmother and mother, some even dating back to the 1890s. I LOVE old photos. Those are the ones that have a story behind them.

Using Bo Bunny “Etc.” and “Timepiece”, along with bling by Zva Creative, this is what I came up with:

I pretty much stayed true to the sketch, adding bling where the floral piece is and only using 2 journal strips instead of 3.

Head over to Sketches in Thyme blog where you can view daily the DT’s take on this sketch and other sketches we have this month. Hope you can play along!

Playtime!

Good morning everyone! Today I have the newest sketch from Sketches in Thyme to share with you, designed by Brenshevia.

How fun is this sketch? So many possibilities!

And here is my take on it:

Pics are of Penny and Jackson playing together back in October.

My products are:
background paper, banner die cut: Doodlebug
phrases, blue pattern paper, green pattern paper: PhotoPlay
enamel dots: Freckled Fawn, Doodlebug
washi tape: Queen & Co
“beware” sticker, “play” sticker: 7 Paper
veneer paw prints: KaiserCraft
gelatos: Faber-Castell
alphas: Remarks
die cut collar: Bo Bunny

I chose this color scheme to go with ACOT’s Graphic Design Challenge. Barb gave us a list of logos to choose from, to be inspired by and I chose the SPRITE logo (blue, green, yellow, grey/silver and white).

Check out the Sketches in Thyme’s blog and hope you can play along with us!

It was meant to be

Good morning everyone! I’m up on the Sketches in Thyme blog today, sharing with you Sketch #284, designed by the very talented Shawn Lahr:

Check out all those fun circles! And here is my take on it:

When I first saw this sketch, I knew EXACTLY which photo I was going to use. This is the first photo I took of sweet Jasmine and Shelby when we were “getting to know them” at the shelter. I just love how little Jasmine is looking at the camera, while little Shelby is chewing on her leash.

So I used my circle cutter to cut the photo into a circle and from there, I was torn by which products. However, once I chose doilies to use as my photo mat (red is Doodlebug; white is Bo Bunny), I went straight for the Doodlebug “Puppy Love”.

I chose the title because at first, both of these little girls had pending adoptions. So while we waited to see if we were going to adopt these two cutie pies, we were already falling in love. Luckily, they both fell thru and they were OURS! ❤ ❤ It was MEANT to be! ❤ ❤

I chose to write my journaling on the 2 doily halves on opposite sides of my layout. The little sprinkles are a mix of enamel dots/shapes, paw print/dog bone stickers – all from Doodlebug.

Make sure you head over to Sketches in Thyme’s blog and check out this awesome sketch. Hope you can play along this month!

Summertime

Good morning everyone! Today I’m up on the Sketches in Thyme blog today. The sketch this week is designed by Sara M.

And this is my take on it:

Really doesn’t look like the sketch at all, but loved the 2 photos at the bottom left and instead of bling/flowers, I fussy cut a bunch of stuff out and used enamel dots. Simple Stories  “Summer Vibes” papers and enamel dots; washi tape by “Recollections”.

Hop on over to the Sketches in Thyme blog to check out the DT’s work this month. Hope you can play along.

team-2

And here’s my take on it:

at-the-vet

These pics were taken at the vet, while Bear was getting laser therapy. She did so well!!!

The veneers and papers are all by Adorn It, and the blingy paw prints are by Jolee’s. The mini alphas are Authentique.

Hope you stop by the Sketches in Thyme blog and play along.

Good times

Good morning everyone! Its my turn to share with you the newest Sketches in Thyme sketch, designed by Brenda Ragsdale:

team-2-sketch

Check out those layers!

And here’s my take on it:

good-times

I used all Doodlebug “Puppy Love” papers and embellies and washi tape. The pictures are of my hubby trying to get his mother’s dog Peanut to sit for treats. This was a few years back – June 2012.

Hope you can join us and play along this month.

Me & My Best Friend

Good morning everyone! Today is my turn to share with you a new sketch by Bev Code for Sketches In Thyme:

march-team-2

And here is my take on it:

me-and-my-best-friend

Its an old photo of me and Kandie. I used Echo Park “BARK” for the papers/stickers. A bo Bunny doily; Paper Studio dog brad; Jolee’s paw prints and a Sticko “WOOF!” sticker.

Make sure you stop by the Sketches in Thyme blog to check out the other sketches. You have until the end of the month to play along!
