April Challenges

Good afternoon everyone! I usually host the Pet Challenge and the Guest Designer Challenge over at A Cherry On Top, but for April, we switch it up! As an “April Fool’s” prank, we were given another hostess’s challenge. This year, I received the Pattern Paper Challenge and Stamping Challenge.

For Pattern Paper Challenge, I want you to se those scraps and/or 6×6 paper pads to punch out/die cut shapes.

Furever Friends

This layout uses mostly the Bo Bunny “Happy Tails” collection. I don’t have anymore of the 12×12 sheets, but do have (now did) a few 6×6 sheets. I also had a few little die cut shapes from the ephemera pack. I used my 2 inch scalloped punch to punch out the shapes and make a grid like design on my background.

Since I’m not a huge stamper, for the Stamping Challenge, I did a search for stamping techniques and found one that I could do and thought it would be really neat. I chose a technique called “Mirror Stamping”. I even found a great step-by-step tutorial for guidance.

Not Liking The Sweater

My “mirrored” image is the doggie wearing the sweater.

Hope you can head over to A Cherry On Top and check out the rest of April’s challenges!

My Boy

This next layout features my sweet boy, Mr Jeffrey! Just look at this face:

The design of this layout is based on Let’s Get Sketchy Sketch, Week 2, March:

LGS

I was going to use triangles, but I saw all these word bubbles and thought I’d repeat that shape instead.

This layout is also based on 2 ACOT challenges. The first one is the Spelling Challenge. We are supposed to spell out the word SHAMROCK. Here is what I used:

S = sketch by Let’s Get Sketchy
H = Heidi Swapp “Hello”
A = Alphas (Bella Blvd)
M = MAMBI washi tag stickers
R = red ink
O = October Afternoon die cuts
C = cloud pattern paper
K = KaiserCraft Paw print stamp

The second one is for the Disney Challenge. Melissa is allowing non-Disney submissions and this month, its based on a color scheme. She gave us several choices, but I went with the golden yellow, light blue, red, and neutrals for my color scheme.

Layout: Life is better with a Dog

I am LOVING the new Bo Bunny “Happy Tails” collection that just came out. Here is my latest layout using papers and embellishments from that very collection, featuring Ruby Mae enjoying the fresh air:

I paired my new papers with some Inkadinkado doggie stamps (quote, paw prints, “puppy love” phrase and doggie), and washi tape by Queen & Co:

And with my new papers and stamps, it is for ACOT’s Technique challenge – to use any stamps you want using your newest papers!

Layout: Hippie Chick – Stardust

Sketchabilities has another GREAT sketch out and again, I had to try my hand at using gesso, misting, inking – and I added paint to the layout too!

Hippie Chick - Stardust

This photo is of my BFF dressed up as a Hippie for Halloween. With such a fun photo, it was easy to have fun with the layout, too!

Most of my products are Webster’s Pages (ACOT Manufacturer Challenge) – papers, transparencies, journaling tags, resin embellishments, ribbon, alphas, and feathered flower.
