Layout: Happy Franksgiving!

Yes, this layout is titled “Happy Franksgiving”, and no, its not a typo. I have an uncle whose name is Frankie, and his bday falls really close to Thanksgiving, and SOMETIMES he shares his birthday with Thanksgiving. Combine those two words and you get “Franksgiving”. LOL!

Happy Franksgiving

This layout is based on a sketch over at Sketch-N-Scrap:

SnS13KHJuly2014

I LOVE everything about this sketch, from the design to the circle and the stars, which I used a combination of red mist from Tattered Angels and a Crafter’s Workshop template along with sprinkling of veneer stars by Studio Calico:

I also combined this layout with two challenges over at ACOT. The first is the color challenge – use red, white, and blue and it CANNOT be about Independence Day. And the second one is the What’s On TV? Challenge, where the hostess selected the show “Cake Boss”. The challenge? At least one photo must have cake or cupcakes in it.

TFL! 🙂

Layout: Cherished Memories

As much as I love sketch challenges, I also love color challenges. They force the scrapper to think outside the box and use colors that you usually don’t use. For the ACOT February Color Challenge, the hostess gave us a color swatch – with taupe, 2 shades of purples and grays, and a blue:

I ended up using all the colors except the dark gray. Here is what I came up with:

Cherished Memories

I used  a variety of products –

Background paper: Bo Bunny
Cardstock: Coredinations
Stars: STudio Calico
Washi Tape: Love My Tapes
Butterfly PUnch: Martha Stewart
Floss: WRMKs
Pearls: Zva Creative
Mini Alphas: My Little Shoebox
Fabric Ribbon: Webster’s pages
3D paper flower: Basic Grey
Buttons, paint (to paint the stars): from stash

The layout is based on Let’s Get Sketchy Week 2 – February:

LGS Team B, Week 1 Feb-1

I really loved the little details, especially the banner and butterflies, which I used, and also swapped out some of the butterflies for stars.

I also did this layout for ACOT’s 3 in a Row – pearls; 3D embellishment; and a journaling spot.

TFL! 🙂
