August Use It or Lose It

Good morning everyone and welcome to my monthly challenge “Use or Lose It!”. I did REALLY good using up my stash last month. I used the following from my original July Use it or Lose It Challenge:

  • Studio Calico “Hey Day” collection pack
  • Beach stickers. I used ALL of them!!!
  • Bo Bunny Jewels in Blue. I used the pearls mostly
  • Everyday sentiment clear stamps
  • Bo Bunny “Timepiece” stickers
  • Basic Grey “Vivienne” 6×6 paper pad.
  • Lily Davis watercolor blue chipboard alphas
  • Clear, very old, bubble stickers talking about “memories”
  • Heidi Grace chipboard
  • Prima teal flower

I had only ONE item that will get a second chance this month:

  • Art-C green micro beads

I even used these items from June’s second chance:

  • Fine glitter
  • Bo Bunny “Key Lime” charms
  • Scrapbooker’s Painted Page paper

One thing I didn’t use was Inkadinkado’s Stamping Gear. I just never was feeling it. I even grabbed it a few times and practiced with it. Not for me, so in the bin it goes!

Now onto my items that I pulled for August.

DSCN6691
An Ancestry.com K & Company Family Tree scrapbooking kit. I don’t even recall ever buying it. But I’m an avid family researcher, so maybe I can do at least one layout?

DSCN6692
Spackling Paste. Before buying texture paste and modeling paste and mixed media products, my husband bought spackling paste from Home Depot. I just wanted it for the texture. Now that I have the mixed media products, this just sits there. On the shelf. Would love to use it at least once this month!

DSCN6693
Ribbon. Both of them have less than 12 inches. It’d be good to use them up
Bling. From Prima. They are very pretty. Un-opened too.
Chalboard flags from AC. Un-opened.

DSCN6694
Lily Davis chipboard alphas. This time…in GREEN.
A sticker sheet about friends and gardens. LOL. OKay…

DSCN6695
The Paper Studio Christmas Pack. Yes, Christmas in August. Thinking about getting started on some Christmas cards.

DSCN6696
Bo Bunny “Mammarazzi” collection. I have 3 full sheets left, some scraps and half a sticker sheet. It’d be fun to use this up!

DSCN6697
Doggie Stamps. Micro size. I forget about these, since they fit in my stash.
Basic Grey “Highline” chipboard. I bought the entire collection when it came out and I’ve been using it to scrap photos of a photo shoot my scrappy friends did about 5 yrs ago. I have quite a bit of it left, but these 2 chipboard project life style cards are still there. I keep passing them up. Might as well try to use them.

Wish me luck and I’ll be back here periodically this month when I use something up!

A Colorful Day

Hey ya’ll! This next layout was inspired by Let’s Get Sketchy’s newest sketch and ACOT’s MMC #3 challenge – stamping, but with a twist. We had to create our background by stamping with something unusual. I actually tried this a few times on scrap paper and never liked anything I came up with until I went into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water, when I saw it. Sitting on the counter. Next to the wine rack. A wine cork! I tried it and really liked the results!

A colorful Day

And here is the sketch:

LGS Week 4 July

I loved the 2 photo sketch, and the ric rac was perfect! The ink, ribbon, bling are all from CTMH with the chipboard pieces from MAMBI. The turquoise paper and paper clip are from The Paper Studio while the pink paper and alphas are Basic Grey. And yes, I finally used that lonely teal flower from my original July Use It or Lose It Challenge! Better late than never right?!!

TFL! 🙂

A couple of cards and layouts too!

Hello everyone and Happy Saturday! Can’t believe July is almost over with. Where has the time gone? Too fast!

Last weekend, I worked on a couple of cards and one layout and today I worked on another layout. Each card/layout used at least ONE item from my Use It or Lose It Challenge for July.

Thinking of You: stamp

I now have finished off that entire package of beach stickers!

Count Your Blessings

Good afternoon everyone! This next layout was inspired by Bo Bunny’s awesome July sketch:

July2016sketch

And here is my take on it:

Count Your Blessings

I used mostly Bo Bunny “Country Garden” papers, fussy cutting the sayings, the butterfly and frames. The chipboard frame and flourishes and bling are all Bo Bunny. The small bluish pattern paper, torn, is Bo Bunny “Etc”.  The bling is from my Use It or Lose It Challenge.

Photos are of Lady Lou, Jeffrey James, and Lady Bear back in May 2013. Sadly, the girls have both passed away – Lady Lou in 2014 and Bear last year. I felt the title fit really well.

I’m combining this layout with ACOT’s 3 in a Row Challenge. I chose the Middle Row: chipboard (the flourishes and frames); lined paper (photo mats and background paper); double matted photo (the large one at the top).

Peek-a-boo!

I see you! LOL! This next layout features pics from Bear  3 yrs ago, sniffing in the ground/dirt.

Peek a Boo

My design comes from Let’s Get Sketchy Week 1 sketch:

13254127_898199543621811_3669647301291159659_n

I basically stuck to the design, swapping out the upside down tag with banners. The large yellow frame is made from washi tape, inspired by MMC #2 Challenge at A Cherry On Top.

The papers/stickers are from Studio Calico; bling is Bo Bunny; and chipboard is Cloud 9 Design – all of these products are from my July Use It or Lose It Challenge.

The watercolors are Shimmerz Inklingz/Creameez.

So Amazing

Good morning everyone! Sketch N Scrap has a new card sketch and by the title of this post, it truly is “amazing”.

July 5th card

At first, I was thinking of doing a PL card, but looking thru my stash, I decided to pull out Basic Grey’s “Vivienne” collection:

So Amazing

That large floral sticker just spoke to me! Everything else just fell into place. The smaller papers are from the 6X6 paper pad I pulled out for the July Use It or Lose It Challenge.

Ribbon/washi is from my stash.

Make sure you stop by Sketch N Scrap’s blog and check out the rest of the DT work. Really fabulous cards!

July 2016 Use It or Lose It Challenge

Good morning everyone and welcome to my monthly challenge “Use or Lose It!”. I did pretty good using up my stash last month. I used the following from my original June 2016 post:

  • CTMH Hexagon Stamps
  • Prima crystal bling
  • Studio Calico “Sundrifter” collection pack
  • Basic Grey “Lime Rickey” collection
  • Heidi Grace Chipboard alphas
  • Spring stickers
  • Imaginisce chipboard pieces
  • K & Company journal pad

These are the items that are getting a second chance this month:

  • Stamping Gear from Inkadinkado
  • Fine glitter
  • Bo Bunny “Key Lime” charms
  • Scrapbooker’s Painted Page paper

I also used Basic Grey “Curio” stickers and dog biscuit pattern paper from my May 2016 post. So the only item that goes into my bin is the scratchy stamp.

So here are the items I pulled to use this month:

I did so well using “Sundrifter” from Studio Calico (I made 1 card and 7 layouts), I went ahead and pulled Studio Calico “Hey Day” collection pack. Again, I bought it during Black Friday for $5.

DSCN6642

Beach stickers. My friend sent me these at the same time as those Spring stickers I had pulled last month. Figured I’d try to use these too.
Bo Bunny Jewels in Blue. I LOVE blue and haven’t even opend them yet!
Everyday sentiment clear stamps. This was one of the very first set of clear stamps I bought. Gosh…I believe like 7 yrs ago. I don’t use them. Ever.

DSCN6643

Bo Bunny “Timepiece” stickers. They are all about dad.
Basic Grey “Vivienne” 6×6 paper pad. I use the 12×12 papers/stickers all the time, but the smaller pack…haven’t opened it yet.
Really really REALLY old Lily Davis watercolor blue chipboard alphas. Where did I even get THESE??

DSCN6644

Art-C green micro beads. What?!?!
Clear, very old, bubble stickers talking about “memories”.
Prima flower in teal. Its pretty lonely there, isn’t it?

DSCN6645

Heidi Grace chipboard. Never opened. Lots of browns, pinks and blues. Very simple – circles, hearts, flowers. I can work with that.

DSCN6646

Wish me luck and I’ll be back periodically this month when I use something up!

Making a dent in my stash!

Good afternoon everyone! I’m back today share a few layouts that I did over the course of two weekends. Two are from the 1st weekend – a continuation (and conclusion) of the Scrappy Weekend with my girls, followed by a few others I did last week and this weekend.

First up are the 2 layouts from the first weekend. I used Basic Grey “Lime Rickey”, Studio Calico “Sundrifter”, some Prima rhinestones and Imaginesce chipboard (all from my June Use it or Lose it Challenge)

Just Be Cool

Just be cool

Ruby & Bear

Ruby and Bear

Our house for MMC #1 (Mini Monday Crop at ACOT with Laura). It uses the CTMH Hexagon Stamps that I pulled for June Use it Or Lose it. I also used BG “Persimmon”

Our House

Favorite Photo for Becky Fleck Sketch #117 at ACOT. I used Webster’s Pages pattern papers/PL card, Freckled Fawn paper clip and Heidi Swapp Chipboard.

Favorite Photo

And last but not least, A Perfect Memory, for ACOT’s Heritage Challenge. The photo is of my husband’s great, great grandparents (in the front), with their children in the back. My husband’s great grandmother is Theresa (the 3rd from the left, in the back row). This layout allowed me to use the BG Curio stickers from last month’s Use it or Lose it as a second chance item!

A Perfect Memory

I still got 2 more weeks to try to use up my stash! Wish me luck!

Sweet Bliss

Good morning everyone! Today, I’m sharing the mid-month sketch by Mandy at Sketch N Scrap:

June 15th Layout

This sketch has so many possibilities! I ended up rotating it counter clockwise to better suit my needs:

Sweet Bliss

All products are Studio Calico – the papers/stickers are from “Sundrifter”, the paper pack from my June Use it Or Lose It Challenge.

I chose the title to fit ACOT’s Title Challenge (I also had to use at least 3 flowers).

Make sure you stop by the Sketch N Scrap blog to see the other work by the talented DT!
