A few layouts

Good morning everyone. This weekend was quite rainy, so I stayed in yesterday and did some scrappin’. Used up some old stash too! šŸ˜‰

I’m on a short leash: Cardstock is Bazzill, pattern paper is DCWV

Finding the perfect bone: Alphas are My Little Shoebox and pattern papers/stickers are Echo Park “BARK” collection

Finding the Perfect Toy

Friends Furever: The ribbons are from Oriental Trading, Bazzill, and Offray and the stickers are all from stash. I got the idea from a process video by Jen Schow. She has a complete series of “Use it or Lose it” and I only watched a couple of videos but now I’m hooked. She has one video dedicated to ribbon that I highly suggest you watch.

February Use it or Lose it Challenge

Good morning everyone!!! This month, its really not going to be a “use it or lose it”, as now I’m working on using my Cricut more often. But I do have 2 items that I never used in December that ended up being a “second chance” item for January. TheĀ Pebbles gold glittered chipboard words got used twice; however theĀ Reminisce ā€œIts a dogs lifeā€ stickers never got used. So in the bin it goes!

As for my January items – I used the All Sports cartridge once and the Cricut Alphabet five times. Not too bad to start off the new year.

As for February, I have chosen the “Freshly Picked” physical cartridge and the pre-loaded CCR Basics cartridge. I’m looking forward to using these 2 carts this month!

As always, wish me luck!

I will always love you

Hi everyone! Today is a gorgeous day and not as humid here too. I’d like to share with you a page about Ruby and Bear. I believe its my first one since Ruby passed away last month.

i-will-always-love-you

Its based on the latest sketch by Let’s Get Sketchy:

team-a-week-2

I chose the title from the movie “The Bodyguard” for ACOT’s Musci Challenge:

That large “LOVE” is from my Januay Use it or Lose It (second chance item). I’m so glad I’m still trying to use these. They are very large, one worded titles, so they don’t fit EVERY layout..but hey, two so far this month!

My papers are also by Pebbles, die cuts/chipboard are from MME, and the little clear stickers are Simple Stories.

January Use It or Lose It Challenge

Good morning and Happy New Year! Hope you all have had a wonderful time spending it with loved ones. We will be having our Christmas get-together with my family today because my BFF was on call during Christmas. Really didn’t want to have two separate parties.

Last month, despite it being a very busy Holiday-month, I did pretty darn good using my stash. Here is what was used up last month:

  • Cloud 9 Design Rain Dots
  • Basic Grey Christmas brads
  • Basic Grey Fact or Fiction banners
  • Heidi Swapp paper pack
  • Making Memories metal words
  • Bella Blvd ā€œJust add colorā€
  • CTMH collection pack

What I didn’t get a chance to use but will try it ONE more time this month are:

  • Pebbles gold glittered chipboard words
  • Reminisce ā€œIts a dogs lifeā€ stickers

There was a couple of items from November that I got to use up as well:

  • Bling – different shades of purple
  • pre-made white bow

What I didn’t use and will be put in the bin is the LYB pocket with strips.

Okay..so new month AND new year. I have decided to pull my Cricut Carts out and challenge myself to use them. Now…I won’t “lose them”, but I do want to try my best at using each cart at least 3 times.

I counted and I have 12 physical cricut cartridges! Perfect! One for each month!

My physical Cricut carts are as follows:

  1. All Sports
  2. Freshly Picked
  3. Paper Doll Dress Up
  4. Storybook
  5. Opposites Attract
  6. Printing 101
  7. Picturesque
  8. Phrases
  9. Pink Journey
  10. My Quiet Book
  11. Creative Holiday Cards
  12. Bridal & Baby Soirees

I also have digital cartridges available via the Cricut Craft Room (CCR). Those are as follows:

  1. Cricut Alphabet **
  2. CCR Basics **
  3. Cricut Font/Basic Shapes **
  4. Formal Occasion
  5. H2O
  6. Life’s a Party
  7. Mustaches/Glasses
  8. Paper Pups

The digital carts marked with ** are the ones that automatically come available with CCR. I didn’t buy them. Also, Cricut will offer a free cartridge digitally for a week or so. Those are listed as they differ all the time.

So for this month, I’m pulling the “All Sports” cartridge and will use the Cricut Alphabet also.

Wish me luck and as always, I’ll try to stop by periodically throughout the month to showcase how I used those carts.

Here We Go!

Good morning everyone! Today I’m sharing with you a fabulous sketch by Mandy over at Sketch N Scrap:

december-15th-layout

And here is my take on it:

here-we-go

I used Bella Blvd “Just Add Color” collection – everything from the paper to the stickers and alphas. The solid grey piece is cardstock from my stash. I am still working on our girls’ photo shoot from October 2011! When I came across this photo….I was inspired to SLICE it.

The mixed media products I used was Tattered Angels (Twinkle Yellow) and Shimmerz (Jeni B Bleu and Paradise Punch). The bling is Bazzill.

The BB collection is from my Use It or Lose It challenge this month. I’m making quite the dent in it. šŸ™‚

Make sure you stop by the Sketch N Scrap blog to take a look at the other DT’s creations. Hope you can play along.

Oh Happy Day

Good morning everyone!! Today is my turn to share with you a layout featuring Sketches in Thyme Sketch designed by Brenshevia

And here is my take on it:

These pics are of sweet Lady Lou, on the way to the beach on Memorial Day 2013. I just love how she’d pose for pics! ā¤

All the papers/stickers/die cuts are from Close To My Heart “Calypso” collection. The enamel dots (rain dots) are from Cloud 9 Design and the “Memories” metal embellishment is from Making Memories. All of these items are from this month’s Use It or Lose It Challenge. The twine is by Doodlebug.

December Use it or Lose it Challenge

Good morning everyone and welcome to my monthly challenge ā€œUse or Lose It!ā€ November was a slower month, with the holiday. But I did get to use my 2nd chance items as well.

Here are the items I used up from November:

  • green brads
  • kitty and doggie ribbon
  • 7 Paper pet stamps
  • Jillibean Soup – Chit Chat Chowder
  • Simple Stories ā€œGood Day Sunshineā€
  • Basic Grey ā€œSultryā€ collection
  • Elle’s Studio ā€œThankfulā€ cork embellies
  • The corner punch and with border

These are the items that I didn’t use so they will receive a “second chance”

  • Bling – different shades of purple
  • LYB pocket with strips
  • pre-made white bow

I only used one item from the October “second chance” pile – Basic Grey ā€œEvergreenā€ chipboard alphas. So the following items are going into a bin!

  • Basic Grey fabric brads
  • Burgundy bling
  • Simple Stories Flair

Now let’s get this month started!

Good Dog – Sketches in Thyme Sketch #228

Good morning everyone! I’m up on the Sketches in Thyme blog, showcasing a wonderful sketch by Cherie Averill:

team-2

And here is my take on it:

good-dog

I opted to swap out one of the photo placeholders for a PL card, minimizing the banner, shifting the 2 embellishment spots and removing the title. My journaling is at the bottom, using the spot up at the top for the super cute words/phrases/quote.

Most of it is Bella Blvd “Rover” collection, but the PL card is from Simple Stories and the ribbon is from TPC Studio. The ribbon is from my November Use It or Lose It post, along with the “foundation” for this layout. I was going to use a solid white cardstock, but when I was getting the ribbon, I saw that one of those “Sultry” papers from Basic Grey – I had SIX of them! SIX! What am I going to do with SIX pink pattern papers? And this is a super duper old collection where everything was NOT double-sided. So I just flipped it over to use as my “base”. It worked out!

Make sure you stop by the Sketches in Thyme blog and check out the other DT’s layouts and hope you can play along with us!
