Layout: In Memory of….

Over at A Cherry On Top, we have MMC’s (Mini Monday Crops) where the hostess provides us with 3-4 challenges every other Monday, along with some fun games. The challenges are just that. Challenging. They get us to create and work outside our comfort zones. Scrap things we usually don’t think to scrap.

For the 3rd challenge, she wanted us to do a Memorial page. No rules for this one – as its a difficult subject to say the least.

For this layout, I chose to do a Memorial page about the family dog Blackie. I have not scrapped her as I don’t have many photos of her (she was around before the digital cameras). And I paired the layout with Let’s Get Sketchy’s 4th June sketch, which was perfect for me in the sense that I only had one photo.

In Memory Of

There is some journaling, which I will add here:

Journaling: Blackie was born in 1982 and she became a show dog. By 1989, she was no longer winning shows. Her owners’ were going to give up on her until my Uncle George rescued her and brought her to us in 1990. By then she was already 8 years old, but she was such a happy dog. This photo was taken in November 2000. She would go to live another 2 1/2 years, passing away at the age of 21 in June 2003. She was our family’s first dog, but she will never be forgotten.

And here is the wonderful sketch that helped me put this layout together:

I pretty much followed the design to a “T”, with adding a chipboard dog/bone/banner cluster instead of the flower and moving the title to under the photo.

Other than the title, which is by Creative Imaginations, all of the products that I used was Bo Bunny’s “Happy Tails” collection.

TFL! 🙂
